I also have the Inventiva cupholder and am happy with it. I just need to remember to remove it if I'm going to be moving the seat up all the way forward as I also bent the screw accidentally. I contacted Inventiva and they sent me a new screw gratis - great customer service!

I have had the Inventive Concepts version for 5 yrs...works great with no issues. Easy on, easy off when I need to slide the seat forward with the kids in the car. Perfect pot for easy reach coffee and very stable. Fits great and DOesn't the little plastic tabs as shown on the pic above.

I want to preface my criticism of the Inventiva Concepts cup holder with the admission that I am very hard on stuff. If there is a hidden issue, I will usually stumble upon it and break it. Literally.
I had that cupholder for two weeks and it worked well. Then a couple of friends needed a ride and I was in a hurry and powered the seat forward forgetting about the cupholder. The mounting screw bent and jammed in the aluminum fitting. I took it off and could not get the screw out. I tried vice grips as a last ditch effort to unscrew it. Then I just dremeled it out. The screw used must be aircraft grade because it was very very hard to drill out.
I was pretty upset about it. I chucked it out of frustration. I use a thermos to carry my coffee to work now and don't drink coffee in the car. I am still kicking myself about it. My story is probably highly unusual though.

Make your own
Remove the cassette/CD rom/ cup insert from between the seats. Gut it out and make a cover plate / insert for it with two round up holes on top. Wrap the cover plate in leather or vinyl and glue it over the same spot.
A sundy kitchen table project.

or you can just buy this one - Prestige Parts in the UK is where I bought mine. I really like it and it looks like it belongs there.

I've posted pics of my home made cup holder before...but here it is again.
Trip to hardware store and bike shop required.
4" angle bracket
1/4" mounting hardware-two bolts, nut's, lock washers.
bottle cage
Spray paint of your choice
trim the width of one side of the bracket, so it fits inside the seat rail. Attach with the seat rail bolt. Yes, it does limit forward travel of the seat some...as the recline lever contacts it.
Anyway, cheap-eay, and in the perfect spot. There is always coffee, or a water bottle in it...always.
