Take the nut off with 24mm and XZN 10.
Put some penetrating oil on the SHCS and use a good 5mm bit
Fan without pulleys.
Took off fan sensor
Loosen shroud bolts and take loose retaining strap
Tried to use bolts to pull fan off, but hub was staying with fan instead up shaft.
This is how I kept my alternator wires sorted out.
Fan off, alternator removed.

Very carefully used lead hammer, proper size socket and padding on my wood bench to remove hub. After it was out, I used 400 grit wet sandpaper to get the rothsport unit to be a nice slip fit.
Open space when removed.
While shroud was out I painted it gloss black. Fan was just cleaned. Used antoseize on reassembly.
Took my fan belt sensor and cut the plug out of it, soldered and heat shrinked wires and tied up in engine compartment.

Bart, what tool tray/cady is that in your pics? I have been looking around for something similar since I built my shop and installed a lift. Seems I never walk back to my toolbox anymore, tools are always on a tray rolling around from car lift to MC lift(s).
Nice write up BTW.

Hazet Assistent. Hazet and Porsche have a long history and I have several tools from them. Cheapest way to get them is order direct from Germany usually. My dealer over there is great.

They are not cheap, but contact this guy if you are interested - tell him Bart sent you!

To me, $800 before importation for a cart is not a little.
I will spend money where it counts, like torque wrenches, allen sockets, etc., like this makes sense
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hazet-986-5-...item3ccc3becd2.
Do like the cart's look though I suspect it would get badly beaten up in my shop.
cheers,
Mike

As you can see, I have a lot of hard line tools from Hazet. Have always been pleased with them.
The cart is 60 lbs and all metal, so a pretty tough customer.

Cheers,
Mike
