My name is Martin and I am a wheelaholic :( Need more!!!
Having sold off my 18" hollow spokes, my Cup II wheels, and probably sold off the Sports Edition Cup 4 17" Tire Rack wheels, I need to bulk up on some 18" wheels. I have one (1) set of Turbo Twist hollow 7 1/2 off set and 10" X 18.
I would like to get a set of lightweight 8" X 18 fronts, offset 50 - 53, and 10" X 18" rears, off set 65mm.
My preference:
1. Turbo twist hollow, 8" front, 10" rear
2. MY 2002 996 wheels {I know these wheels seem to bend easily, but
they can always be straightened }
3. OZ Lightweights
4. Some other lightweight wheel.
If nothing shows up, there is always Sports Edition Cup 4 18" wheels. About $800, a bit heavy, slightly heavier than the Turbo Twist hollow spokes.

Drifting
Hi Martin, i am struggling too with the intended replacements for my 18" Turbo Twists as well.
Has anyone purchased Wheel Dynamics Porsche RS-903 18"s, love the look but wondering about
the quality. Available in 3 finishes.
What do you guys think? I was also looking at the ROTtec 18" 993 RS style.
Too many choices !!!!

Wheel, oh lawdy!s
What I have concluded, the lighter the wheel, assuming it's is structurally sound, the better. The lighter wheels should spin up faster, slow down a little easier and reduce unsprung weight.
If cost is no concern and you have an unlimited budget, you have no problem, your wheels await you. But I have to live with wifey who is not that enamored with racing. She puts up with the expense....but if I hit her with a $4,000 wheel bill, it will hit the fan. So as a consequence, I am shopping for the best value, best bang for the buck.
The cheapo knock offs from questionable dealers (Read E Bay), I wouldn't want to lay my life on the line for these wheels. I am pretty convinced that Tire Rack sells some good stuff, and am always susceptible to Porsche factory wheels.
The lightest 18" Porsche factory wheels (Of course OEM's by others such as BBS) seem to be the:
1. Turbo Technology (hollow) wheels
2. MY 2002 996 wheels*
*I am a little hesitant on MY 2002 996 wheels for the track as they seem prone to bending, but if I could get a set dirt cheap, I could live with an occasional wheel straightening exercise.
My third choice would be any other Porsche 18" wheel, but other than the above, they can be a little on the heavy side. But they ARE Porsche, and were made for our cars.
Away from the Porsche factory wheels, Tire Rack's OZ HLT wheels look very interesting, super light at 17.8 Lbs front and 19.0 Lbs rear. The price is not all that bad at $1,660 for a set.
I'll continue my shopping...wish me luck!

I have your solution...
I checked out the Wheel Dynamics on the Pelican Parts Board. The 18" fronts are 8.5" wide, the rears, 9.5" wide...unnecessarily wide in from, .5" too narrow in the rear, and don't like their off set. I want 65mm on my 18" rear wheels. After looking and looking, and considering that I have a wifey driven budget, I have narrowed it down to:
OZ Alleggerita HLT, very light, 17.8F/19.0R, and the correct off set, $1,660
Porsche factory technology wheels, heavier than the above but could be available in the $1,000 range if you shop around and are willing to wait. This is a very rugged wheel.
MY 2002 996 wheels, the lightest factory wheel available for the 993, maybe $1,000 to $1,200 used. Great for the street, but I question their durability for the track. I have had three sets of these (Why did I sell them?). When purchased used, I could count on at least one of the wheels being bent. Then there is the hassle to straighten them.
If you want cheap (Sort of heavy), the Sports Edition Cup 4 wheel from Tire Rack is available, about $750. I have their 17" Cup 4 wheels, great wheels, easy to buy, not so easy to sell. I have a set for sale (17"), and they are not moving as I thought they would....maybe its time for Flea Bay, perish the thought.
In conclusion, sometimes it is best to pay a little more and get what you want...you only have to experience the pain upon initial purchase. But pay too little, compromise your standards, and get something you don't lust over, that decision will haunt you every time you see those cheap wheels. "Damn, for a few bucks more, I could have had what I really wanted!" I picked up this concept from a Zig Zigler tape...now there is a professional peddler!

That's a good deal on Eric's MY02s, one of my favorite looking wheels for the 993.
The BBS RE I have a pretty sweet, but probably not the cheapest. Especially mine, since I spent a bunch extra to get the painted in Glasurit Stahl Grau.

I got my "fix"
Guys,
Thanks so much for your kind and generous offers. I am going to go with the OZ wheels from Tire Rack...super light and in my budget.
Knowing my weakness for wheels, if I had an unlimited check book, I'd buy them all, fill up the garage...of course I'd be sleeping in the garage too.
