It's great that you're excercising the bug killing abilities of the 993. Congratulations!!!

He is using very narrow 275 tires, so there will not be any rubbing. I use 315s on my 11" rears.

a newbie...second post has lovely pics of his new 993, third post has the above tid bit.

I vote newbie of the year for this fine gentleman.(edit-pony up the $17 membership here on rennlist first-you already recognize the value of this place, so help support it!)

Regarding the above "tax return" quote, be careful what you wish for my friend. The only thing that members of this board are better at than giving good advice...is suggesting how to spend other peoples money on mods.

Congratulations, more details please...options, mileage, etc.

This made me LOL! Coming from the Miata world, having 215 or 225 in the back made others go ZOMGWTFBBQ!!!

Boxcarracer: 275 gives a slight stretch, and the rear fenders are rolled, so no rubbing issues at all.

Hear is how the rear looks:

And my other new toy lol, still a kid at heart!

aarrow, could you be kind enough to share offsets (if you have them).
I'm looking for wheels and like your offsets very much, i would like to copy them....
one last request, any chance of a picture showing the rolled fender from the ground up? i would like to see where the fender actually "rolls"
thanks,
Neil

Love the car. The wheels make it look tough. I like the deep offsets on the rear. Would love to hear more details on how you got them to fit.

Hmmm...first find a good mechanic to work with...then go through service history make sure all fluids have been changed at appropriate times, belts etc etc are in good condition...Fister IIIs, short shift kit, walrods, rs motor mounts, figure out what kind of shocks/springs you currently have and are they good for awhile and keep on driving.

THIS! I recently moved to a new city and have yet to find a trustworthy mechanic. I wish I was in the Bay Area again, I could name more than a few. Here in the Central Valley, I'm stuck with either Michael's Porsche dealership or Siegfried's Motors. B
The latter with whom I had my AC serviced. They didn't do anything unethical, but did prove to be a little "shady" in how they operate. In short, they performed and charged for services which I didn't approve. Not very happy about that...

Anyways, I've been a little busy... Installed a new radio and all four (very blown) cheap nokia speakers. Picked up a Schnell strut bar too. Shiny to say the least

Also picked up a pair of driving gloves too. I HIGHLY recommend these things! Makes the hard leather steering wheel feel much more "controllable." Not sure how else to describe it
