Thinking of selling my two-owner 1997 C4S
#2
So are you thinking of selling it, or are you actually selling it?
It sure looks like a for sale ad, not a thinking ad. If it is a for sale ad, rules require you list the price.

Also you might want to answer some questions that could come up:
What necessitated a service every 5K miles to this car to the Le Mans winning mechanic?
Are you the original owner? If not, are you sure this was never a commuter car? If you are the original owner, since you've racked up 160K miles in 30-90 minute drives and never commuting, I envy your driving time to be able to put 200 miles in pleasure driving every single week that you've owned it! That's impressive!
Do you have all the paperwork on the 3.8 Andial upgrade?
What is 11/10 driving dynamics? Have you recently seen "Spinal Tap"?
And finally:
Is getting groceries bad for my 993?
This ad has lots of unneeded "fluff", which around here is not necessary. 160K miles is rough but the 3.8 could be nice. I'd say it'll sell in the $30Ks, and maybe if you get someone who really loves Le Mans, your long spirited non-commuting drives and has a boner for the .2 liter upgrade to 3.8 and hates groceries, you might hit $40K.
I think.

Doesn't look like a 160K mile car from here. Has it had a total respray?
Goof, title says 2 owner? When did the current owner purchase the car and how many miles on the clock when purchased?

i love how the 993 forum always has "feelers" interested in selling... i guess it really is hard to part with these things
Seriously however, the car looks great!
Because of the mileage it will lower the resale from a what could be a 40-50k car down to 25-35k.
But the car has a market. Somebody on a budget would love this car for the right price. It would allow them to sneak into C4S ownership on a C2 budget in what appears to be a solid trouble free example.
Depending on where you price point this thing i maybe interested.....

interested in the Bearcat scanner if you'll seperate
just kidding..
I assume you have the complete build specifics from Andial regarding the motor rebuild, with a price tag also. Beautiful exterior shots, but none of the interior. Considering the stated condition and mods of the rest of the car...I'd have the "known issues" fixed before selling.
You'll never get your Andial money back IMHO, but the car certainly looks beautiful. So Andial bits are a plus, mileage is a negitive. Full records a plus for sure.
There have been "thinking of selling" threads too numerous to mention, and they often bring out both the best and the worst of rennlisters.
Now honestly, you must have an idea what you think the car is worth...what you would be willing to sell it for. You can price it to sell, or you can price it to sit.
If I was in the market for a well cared for, well documented, nicely modded wide body...maybe low $40's would make me look closer. Andials reputation(depending on complete build specifics)-you must have some dyno numbers afterall, increases the cars value. A similar mileage stock C4S might bring low to mid thirties IMHO.
Considering any prespective buyer is looking to get mods for pennies on the dollar, is the Andial 3.8 worth anymore than 7-10K additional? Afterall, the build does have 40K miles on it.
just my uneducated, highly ill informed pulled out of my a$$ opinion.
The car obviously had gobs of money put in it... either by you, or owner #1. Unfortunately, these are not an investment vehicle that yield any kinda return on that cash input. You gotta think of money spent on mods, as gas in the tank. In one end, and out the other...with often not much more than the experience had in between to show for it.
So, low $40's...what was the build from Andial $15-20K, clutch and bits also?
