How so? We still do not have the worldwide production numbers from a definitive source, just the ones into the USA
For the turbo, the following numbers means it does not seem to qualify:
Sources: Wikipedia -> 993 Turbo – total production across all years - 5978
Sources: Original Porsche 911 (Peter Morgan) - 1996 – 1357 USA, 2484 ROW, 1997 1048 USA, 972 ROW
Total worldwide production in either 1996 or 1997 for the 993 Turbo appears to be over 1500 units. However, Gary's C2S may qualify since there were less of them made, but the question is how many made worldwide in 1998?
Cheers,
Mike

Total Production Numbers. You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake... unless you are a 1996 Speedster narrow body.
BTW, the source (Adrian Streather: 993 The Essential Companion) states an accurate count is impossible.

Yup, have the book and seen that one too - but it does not help since it does not tell what are the worldwide production numbers for a the specific year 1998 C2S, and the 1997 993TT. It does give a spread for the Turbo (i.e) all years as 5900, and the Carrera S Coupe all years as 3714, but not for every specific year. Anyone seen that?

Ok, that means that Canada got 1046 - 612 = 434 Turbos, or 42% of the Turbos shipped to North America - that does not sound right but OK, looks like I am hosed.
Ok, how about the 98 C2S, any numbers on that?
Cheers,
Mike

Sorry, are you looking to get under 1500 C2S's only worldwide or ALL 993's (including cabs and C4S's) for MY 98 ? Looks like around 2070 non cabs worldwide with about 300 in USA/Canada being C4S's. So down to 1770 without counting the ROW C4S's. If you just need 1998 C2S number worldwide to be < 1500 then I think you're in biz, if you include cab's, not so much.

We are looking for documented confirmation that they made less than 1500 1998 C2S's worldwide. This does not include any other 911 models, such as cabs, targa, C4S's, turbos or whatever. :-).

Wow this is going to be close Gary!
So this missing puzzle, out of 1,962 C2S's for ROW, what was the allocation by year (97-98)? Someone here must have this info.

I was told by Park Place motors in Bellevue that the "world wide total number of 1998 (993) C4S' produced is 299 and they were all sent to the U.S. In 1998 the new body style liquid cooled was introduced and sold in Europe only?.............Is this correct?

For fun, lets to that. 1997 = 759 units, 1998 = 993 units, so world wide 1998 would be 993/(993+759) * 3714 = 2105. Not good.
Cheers,
Mike

The guys at Park Place usually have their data wrong, any idea how they sourced this information? We are looking for the C2S anyways...

In Ontario if you have vintage plates you are not supposed to drive on any 400 series highways(all the major highways). The black plates are cool and cheap to register.

I don't understand what's the big secret with Porsche and their numbers. Then again, if it was easily published, we won't be talking funny numbers here, would we? LOL
World wide production for 1997+1998 C2S -> 3714.
NA 1997 C2S -> 759
NA 1998 C2S -> 993
ROW 1997+1998 C2S -> 1962
ROW 1998 C2S -> ???
Anyone has the missing piece?
