Default Fister 200 cell cat and stage 2s, just installed

A few people have asked for a 'review' of my new exhaust.

Car is a 96 993 C4S. I have RS mounts, reinforced engine carrier, RS clutch and LWF from FD also installed. This morning I installed the Stage 2 cans (ceramachrome coated) and the new FD 200 cell sport cat (ceramacoat in titanium). I also installed polished wide ovals.

Wow. Its pretty loud. First start up had me grinning pretty good. I like a healthy sounding exhaust. This exceeds that. Nice rumble to it. Did I mention its loud? I have a sound meter, I will check it against my stock measurements tonight or tomorrow and post that as well. On the neighborhood street its not horribly obnoxious under 2k rpm idling along. Touch the throttle and well, your neighbors will hear you. I think it will be OK. I want to have a neighbor drive it down the street so I can hear it. On the highway at 3k rpm it isn't too bad. You could talk with someone it the car without much trouble. I think the Bluetooth microphone for the phone will now be an ornament though.

Ill post more later. I will be at NHMS next Monday/Tuesday if you want to have a listen.

Your report is exactly how I would describe it. I actually drove my wife and 2 daughters to a car show about 50 miles away w/o any complaints from them. I did have a friend ask me to rev it when I left and let me just say all heads turned. Anxiously waiting to put my stage 1 on to see how that goes. The sound at idle and up is awesome.....except when you go WOT.

I haven't gotten a cel yet. I drove about 10 miles (half highway half city Streets) to a friends house, shut it off and then started again an hour later and drove 45-50 miles highway to work.

With stage 3s?? Yikes. I think that could get me burned at the stake driving through neighborhoods!

Passed a neighbor on the road druving home. She liked it, said it wasn't bad. Of course her husband has a full size backhoe he drives around he yard as well as dirt bikes and sleds. So she may not have an unbiased opinion.

I should mention the only issue I had is that the engine aero pan no longer fits. The O2 sensor hits it. I'm going to modify the aero pan since they just hit it.

Run it without the engine cover. Can you make a video or sound clip?

All I have for video is my phone. I can try it tomorrow. I like the cover, it makes it easy to detect leaks without getting my garage floor stained.

^^^^ This is a great point. I prefer to run with the cover for that reason and for the protection it affords delicate elements on the underside. Maybe Darin can suggest an appropriate solution perhaps by relocating the mounting point on the sport cats. Is this an issue for the '95 OBD1 setup with its single O2 sensor?

The secondary O2 sensors were the ones that hit. They seem to angle downwards more than the stock location. They barely interfere. I'm planning on just taking a notch out of the pan.

Given the location of that notch could oil be allowed through the pan onto the floor?

Only if a lot leaked. So far the pan has been nice and dry. My chain case on the drivers side weeps but never seems to drip.

The pan is so close to clearing I don't think I will have to make a very large notch
