I was thinking about this combo and the video convinced me. I think I will wait for a while. I thought my Subaru was loud on cold start up. Holy Shnikeys, your 993 sounds like a real race car!

Had a DE day at New Hampshire Motor Speedway today. Oh my god these are loud. Coming down the straight I cannot hear my instructor through the chatterbox! I tried using the fangs to quiet it down a bit. Did not help much. I'm going to see if I can find someone to take a video and sound level while I drive tomorrow.

I was not able to get a video but a friend was able to get a sound reading. He measured from the wall at pit out, I'm guessing 40-60 feet maybe. 103db. I was in third gear shifting to fourth 6,000rpm +/-. I'm going to have to find a way to tame that for other tracks...

Awesome... My only hesitation on this is that all the 200 cell is doing is adding noise right? If so doesn't seem I be worth the extra $1200

I cannot say for sure. If there is a difference in power, I cannot say I feel it made a huge difference. I would like to do a dyno with stock and with 200 cell cat. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced place in New England?

Wow that's pretty nutty - sounds amazing... on someone else's car 8-).

Good for you tho, that's verrrrrrry cool!

Dyno... I just had my S600 on the rollers @ http://www.enhancedstreetperformance.com/, tell Dave Brady Paul from //SFest sent you. He's a great guy, willing to work with you, and knows his stuff.

Shouldn't be all that far from you, prob about same distance I had to go from here.

That trip to the dyno was quite memorable for me... encountered a 997 turbo S enroute and enjoyed some cat 'n mouse. I enjoyed, guessing he prolly didn't... couldn't shake me* 80-130 (in fact I was somewhat gaining) despite seeing the 'poofs' out the pipes and hearing the WOT unfurl before me 8-).

Good stuff.

HTH. Looking forward to your results should you go.

The weight savings is an added benefit, even if no power gains. I'm guessing tho you'll see 'something', as well as feel the shift in the torque curve - should really scream eagerly and with earnst up high!

(*I did put down 612rwtq - @2900 - muwahahaa 8-))

I haven't heard it from 40-60 feet away, but from 4-6 feet away (as I was when you passed me on the straight) I will vouch for the fact that indeed this exhaust is LOUD...but it sounds awesome!

Why did you do the reinforced engine carrier upgrade? Need or Want? Did you do the weld kit, rennline or RS replacement? Do the work yourself?

Thanks, Brian

Curious if you ever got any data on performance gains from the 200 cell cats?

Brian, just saw your question. I have upgradeitis
There was no other reason

Socal no I didn't. Actually removed the sport cats and sold to another rennlist member. Too loud for most tracks.
