Default Any steering wheel re-wrap recommendations?

Getting ready to send a 3-spoke out for a re-wrap and trying to decide on where to send.

Doing a search the only place I came up with was Dallas Custom. Any other good ones you guys might suggest? And those to avoid?

Also interested in hearing feedback on what thickness is good to go with on the re-wrap?

Thx

I have had good results with Dallas Custom. Don does good work and provides good customer service.

search for poland steering wheel, as I think there was a place some people were sending theirs to with reasonable results.

You mean CarsDream.com.

A few on here have had their wheels done there and I have not heard anything along the lines of "reasonable results". The pics of their wheels looked first rate. Incredibly, with shipping the price was reasonable.

I cannot speak first hand of their work, but recently saw a pretty nice wheel they did on a car I was considering. Its probably where I'd go if I was going to do something like that.

I've always liked the looks of Paul Champagne's work. Never used him though. Looks like he charges $300 for steering wheel work.

I second this... Cars dream did my 3 spoke wheel and it came out simply perfect. also, it was a perfect match to the factory leather airbag, their stitching and attention to detail was exactly what i would expect from a factory wheel.

also, they were kind enough to send me a 3 spoke wheel, then i returned my 'core' three spoke wheel to them. working with them was easy and all over email...

Has anyone every had someone cover an airbag? I am curious as to who has the skills to pull this off. It looks like the factory uses very thin leather for this.

I had good luck with Dallas Custom on my handbrake that I had covered in Alcantera. He is a local guy and was excellent.

The Polish guys turned our some very, very nice work based on the pictures that Chuck posted some time ago. It takes several weeks, right?

I have had CarsDream.com do four wheels for me. I am very please with their work. Since we are neighbors, stop by and take a look. I currently have one of theirs on my Boxster and another on my Tundra.

+1 on CarsDream. Did it as a group discount and was very happy with the results. Took i think 2+ months though, if time is a consideration.

I recently had Craft Customs (http://www.craftcustoms.com/index.htm) redo a MB Brabus wheel in wood/leather that came out unbelievable. In Texas and turnaround time was a few weeks.

If I had another wheel, I would probably use Craft again given the price differential wasn't enough to justify the longer turnaround time as well as the ability to pick up the phone and ask about progress and get pics of the wheel status.

I'm not quite as local as Chuck, but you are welcome to come down to Manhattan Beach and check out both steering wheels.
