Added Techron Concentrate Today!
Decided to give this a go after following a few threads on this -
I Added a bottle of Techron Concentrate before I filled up today from a near empty tank. After driving about 65 miles today, and being subjective of course, I feel fairly certain there is a perceptable smoothness to the engine that wasn't there before.

I just bought a bottle and I'm waiting to drive a few more miles to get the level down before adding it. Bottle says add 12 gallons of gas...did you go for full tank after or just the 12 ? Good to hear in any case.

Techron comes in a larger bottle that treats up to 20 gallons. I use that with a full tank.

just wondering...does techron really make a big difference on our cars? i saw a post on the forums when i was just browsing about these botles going for $4.50 at walmart.. but really, what does it do? im just not sure if the difference is psychological, or if it actualy makes a difference in our cars ....thoughts anyone?

I don't think you need to change the oil as the Techron is going in the gas and any deposits that are freed up will burnt up and go through the tail pipe(s).

Agreed. Can't hurt.
This is what Chevron's own website says -
"Engines are designed to work at their best when they are clean and modern engines are designed to work with finer tolerances and at higher temperatures. Techron® works molecule by molecule to prevent deposit formation, and in the case of deposits left behind by low quality gasoline, works to remove those deposits."
I don't think my car was in bad condition in the first place, but I do feel it (the engine) is a bit 'smoother' now. As I said before, subjective.

In all seriousness, years ago I did have a mechanic at my local dealership tell me that the Techron fuel additive is pretty much as close to a professional injector cleaning as you can get without hooking up to a real injector cleaning system... Don't know if it is BS or not, but I run a bottle thru a couple of times a year...

I used a bottle after throwing a cel (thinking it was the SAI ports). After resetting, no more check engine light and car does seem to run better. Will proceed with using a bottle every third fill up.
