Couldn't agree more on the suspension. Transforms the car. Changing the bushings is great "while you're in there" advice.
My personal choice? PSS10's and the M030 sways. There are LOTS of combinations out there so ask yourself what you want from the car before spending the bucks. It's not cheap so consider all options and consider that doing it right the first time is much cheaper than doing it twice. Good luck!

The 2 things every stock 993 needs is lowered suspension & more exhaust noise.
Start there, with the many, many options. If you are going to Auto-X find out what class you want to be in, then modify the car to match. Don't get the parts then find a class you will be unhappy.

The answers are quite different depending on your budget. Open checkbook? Sure, pss10s and a supercharger sounds nice. More modest (and modest is relative in Porsche land)? Bilstein HDs and m030 springs and bars is a great start. Best bang for the buck. And I'm with cactus -- get a 996 sport steering wheel. One of the nicest mods, much sportier feel -- and it is the thing you touch most often (at least while in the car, whilst out of the car, well, we won't discuss that.....). Those two are where I would start.
And if must, this is the best cup holder for the 993:

Happy Birthday and I hope you brought your wife coffee in bed this morning!
Couple of thoughts;
You may want to consider upgrading the headlights. Simple DIY and many, many, paths to take. Feels good to see where you're going...
Any mods to the suspension (includes wheels) are a compromise to what you currently have. So my suggestion would be to explore what you want your car to be. The Autocross is a good start. Check with your local PCA and see if you can sign up for a High Performance Driving Clinic. If you are close to a track do a Seat Time, even better if you do it with other 993 owners. They may even have some of the mods you are considering and what better way to compare. Maybe take it as far as the Porsche Driving Experience. The point is that you should come away with a direction you want to take your car instead of where we believe you want to take your car![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
If you do decide to jump in and ignore the above, take the time to ride in and possibly drive a 993 with the mods you are considering before purchasing. And if you do go shocks give the KW's a good look.
Have Fun,
Neil
