Right. You can't ever be the original owner of another 993. Now, different story if you had to have a coupe or a Turbo (or were sick of silver). But since it seems like this car fits the bill.........
Go join Ed on one of those weekend mountain runs to get out and about with it!

Please keep it.
6 years will fly by continuing the way you have been.
I only have one regret (selling my very rare, one of one 2002 Acura NSX-T Imola Orange Pearl w/Onyx interior) and trust me I think about that car a lot. A collector in Hong Kong has it now and knows its a rare bird so won't part with it.
Especially being an original owner that's a very special feeling.

If you were to sell it, what would you replace it with in 6 yrs? If the answer is anything close to the 993, you should absolutely keep it. If you're just sliding down the gently slope towards mediocre, don't care about it transportation, then that's a different story. Sounds like you need a quick fix and watch "Are you listening" video to remind yourself.

I sold my 1995 993 cab in 2005. Had it for over 8 years and enjoyed it. But life is short and I wanted to try different machinery and I have no regrets in doing so.
If I want another 993, I will go out and buy a Rennlister maintained example.

I hear ya..... 99 cab....sold huge regret maybe because she was my first. I then picked up a 2011 GT3, WOW! But tough as a daily driver and I didn't have lots of opportunities to take her to the track, so I feel that she's just wasting away on the normal street so I had to place her up for sale....... Now 96 993, easy to drive, she's there when I need my spirited drive........just love it.
I think if you don't use her, gotta let her go to someone that might enjoy her more.

I get that same feeling once in a while. Mine will sit in the corner of the garage being ignored and I ask myself why I have it. Then I take it for a long drive and fall in love again.
What you need to do is plan a long drive or event involving the 993. It will ignite old love. Like a second honeymoon. Do this once or twice a year. Time will fly and pretty soon you will be free of the island and enjoying the 993 again.

I completely understand your thoughts! I've been wanting to post a similar thread.
Due to working out of town, unsuitable weather on the rare opportunities to drive, and unfortunate mechanical problems the few recent times I have tried to drive (nail in a tire, odometer failure, multiple instances of dead batteries) - I've put fewer than 500 miles on the car in the past 3 years!
I just cannot stomach the thought of not having this car! The few times I do manage to drive it I get such a grin on my face I know I would not be happy without. I feel fortunate that to this point finances have not dictated that I need to sell.

If you have an attachment because you're the original owner (which I would), then keep it unless you NEED the money. If not and you want the money, buy one in six years.

My motto...there's always another car. Unless you have a sentimental attachment to the car - which it doesn't sound like you do - sell it and buy another when the time is right. I've never been attached to any car and I change cars frequently with no regrets. It may cost you a little more to get another one in the future, but not enough to prevent you from doing so. I just bought a 2012 Grand Sport Corvette and am very happy with my purchase. When I'm tired of it, I'll sell it and get something else
