Did a ROW MY96 trans swap (stock shorter gearing w/LSD) in my MY98 993 waaay back in 2000. The gearbox makes the loss of specific power output of the 3.6l at elevation (8,000ft) easier to take and when closer to normalized elevation levels the shorter gear ratios are simply a hoot to drive.

Just a thought: Could the seller identify a local Texas resource to validate the present condition of the trans? I would think this would assist with the sale.

It's priced as if it needs a rebuild, I'm 99.9% sure it is in excellent condition, I can open it and visually inspect but it will need new seals and new nuts if you want to do it properly, and few hours of work. I can open the LSD cover and take pictures of the ring and pinion as well as LSD. If someone is interested.

I'll vouch for Bassam, right here, right now.

Straight up guy and well known in the racing circles in this area of the woods.

Bassam- don't forget to put this on the mid-engine kit car boards. They go for more money to those guys.

Bert, I'm trying to answer everybody's questions, you are the first who contacted me about the transmission and I am waiting for the transaction. Am I trying to sell it after we spoke? No, please check the dates and times of my responses, they are all before we spoke! wondering where you got that assumption from.

Thanks Cupcar for the tip, they go for more money even on this board, but I want somebody here to get the good deal.
