Default Piloti

How are your Piloti's?

My Piloti's have suddenly fallen apart - and they have been lightly used and never abused. The rubber sole is actually breaking up.

Mine still look brand new, they're almost two years old!

Of course, that's probably largely because they've been worn twice. I apparently still prefer Chucks..anyone wear 11's?

Piloti Driving and Racing Shoes
•We apologize for the small selection of Piloti shoes. Sadly, Piloti is no longer in business and no further inventory is available.
•What is shown in our store is the small remaining inventory we have.
•Once these shoes are gone, we will not be able to obtain anymore.
•We thank all of our loyal Piloti customers we have served over the years. We hope that a new owner may resurrect this fine brand again.

....On February 15, 2012, an involuntary petition for liquidation under Chapter 7 was filed against Piloti, Inc. in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District Of California, San Fernando Valley. On March 28, 2012, the involuntary petition was approved by the Court...

So does this mean my barely worn shoes are now an investment?

I have a friend who wears his Pilotis about every day and they're worn as much as you'd expect any daily shoe to be worn. He drives pretty hard all the time, heel-toeing his downshifts and such, so they have a hard life. Perhaps that one came through the line Friday afternoon

Also, sad to see they're now defunct.

I've had mine for 2½ years (Prototipo), and they're still in fine shape. I wear them regularly.

The stiching on mine began to come undone within two months. Bite the bullet and order a pair of German custom hand made Vitallo (all black, fire retardant,FIA standard 8858-2000) racing shoes/boots. Expensive but you get what you pay for and they will last you a lifetime. It takes them a few months to make your shoes after they get the step in foam templets back from you. They are the most comfortable shoes I own.I have no affiliation with them.Just a very happy customer.

I've had two pairs for several years, one pair black, one pair white. They've both held up pretty well but are beginning to show their age. Puma, Oakley and other brands have jumped into the market in recent years. It's probably hard for a small company like Piloti to compete with those guys.

Amazon, ebay....lots of places to anwer that question. However, I looked last night and if you want any, better get on it quick since the bankruptcy was a few months ago, stock is probably dwindling to nothing now....
