Default Opinions on this 993

I've done quite a bit of research on this site and value the highly experienced members and their advice! This is a local 1996 993 cab 4 in Guards Red with a caramel leather interior, 46K, 3 owners with all service records since 1999. Its seems to be in great shape, tight handling, great shifting and strong engine with no oil leaks at all.........

It has a few small paint chips and dings but nothing major, and I have attached a pic of the car protector he keeps it in over the winter, it seems like it has been very well taken care of....

The owner hinted that 33K is his lowest price. If the PPI checks out is this a good price for this car?

If the PPI checks out and is as nice as you say, 33k is a great buy.

I would agree. Have you pulled a Carfax report and looked for accidents/service history? Also .. during the PPI, make sure the shop operates the power top to make sure it's working properly.

Price/miles sounds good. You can't go wrong with a guards red cab and he sure knows how to store the vehicle!

$33k is a great price for that setup... if that is what you are looking for, grab it!

I appreciate everyones feedback in the thread and in the PM's, you know how to make a guy feel welcome.

The 993 is going for a PPI next week, its getting back from the shop where the "door strap" creak is being fixed. When I asked about that he immediately got it fixed though he said it cost him more than he thought $500+. His knowledge and obvious devotion to the car is honestly a big selling point, you can tell its been taken care of and he wants it to go to a good home....

If everything checks out next week I'm going to pull the trigger.

Just for due dilligence I test drove a/an:

BMW 06 M Roadster-Oodles of grunt and a refined cockpit, but it handled like a much larger car and isnt an icon.........

Mercedes 03 SL AMG- it is a glorious ride, like a freight train that you can drive off the rails and go anywhere.........but......it looks like virtually every sl vert ever made.....and its uber fast.....but not sporty....

Lotus 05 Elise- I had read the reviews, but nothing can prepare you for the handling response and road feel of this go kart.......the engine is rather fun, but its so bare bones and I pushed it just enough to feel the rear step out slightly........it might be the spiritual heir to the old school Porsche oversteer king, but felt rather flimsy and cheap, and it was loud ( I want my engine and exhaust loud, not the cockpit!)

and finally, a 2005 Carrera cab that was 10K more than the 993 and much more refined, and modern with a beautiful interior, but seemed less soulful and will probably be depreciating right past the 993 as ithe 993 holds its value or increases.....

Thanks again.
