Default Aerokit Option Code Help Please!!!

I am looking at a car that has the turbo S-type Aerokit, but I do not see those codes on the option sticker. However, there are two exclusive option codes that I cannot decipher...00081 and 18931. Does anyone know what these are?

This is a very low-mile and expensive car, so I don't want to buy it if the Aerokit was added by an owner at some point. Can anyone help with this mystery

To my knowledge, a code like 18931 is a one-off exclusive 'Package' code that gathers a bunch of exclusive options together in a package. They were generated because there was insufficient space on the labels.
The only way to find out what was in that particular code would be to call Porsche Cars North America, tell them you are looking to buy this car, give them the vin and ask them a SPECIFIC question .. like 'Did the car come with an Aerokit?' They can answer specific questions ..

Thanks. I called and they told me all of the options - no aerokit. They did not know what the exclusive codes meant...

Huh. I'm surprised they couldn't break down that code. In my experience those bundled 'package' codes certainly could have put an Exclusive Aerokit I together with carbon/aluminum, wide ovals, full leather .. whatever and been given a single number, but I thought PCNA would have that breakdown. Were the options they told you all listed on the option code sticker on the car?

Can you confirm the codes are 00081 and 18931? I have exclusive options 00061 and 16931. The 6s kind of do look like 8s on the sticker.

Why do you want not to buy it if added after the fact? Just take it off, sell it easy. Back to original.

And where do I get the original painted decklid and front bumper from????

Yes, those are the codes.

All the other option codes were listed on the sticker except "deviated carpet" which it has and PCNA mentioned.

Here are the codes that are on my option sticker. Also a couple of things I would look for.I have owned 993 cars with Factory Aero Kit installed and a couple S's were the Aero Kit was added after the fact. When someone adds one, most of the time they forget to install a couple of key parts. One is a longer rubber Snorkel .Also should have Plastic pieces so Rubber guides on Deck Lid don't scratch the paint.I guess even if it has these installed, doesn't prove it came from the factory with Aero Kit.Just a couple of things that I would verify are installed.Hope this helps.

Code Option Description
XD1 993: Aero II Turbos S Front Air Dam
XD2 993: Aero II Turbo S Rear Deck Lid

In the rear when you open the deck lid there will be a black plastic piece on each side about 1 1/2 inches long in the gutters where the spot welds are.On cars without Aero Kit there are 4 rubber plugs instead of plastic protection strips. You could remove Black Plastic Plugs and install Plastic protection strips,so not 100%.All Turbos also have these strips as they also have rear wings

Under the deck lid there should be two Adjustable Rubber stops hanging down

Thank you very much!!!! I didn't know that and unfortunately the car has plugs, not strips. Such a mint, low-mile car, I am shocked that the kit isn't factory installed. Now to decide whether or not to make an ofer....

Couple other things. When Wings are added ,owners forget to remove the switch to manually raise and lower the non aero rear wing.If it came with Factory wings it will have a dummy switch in its place.

I know you are looking for a collector quality S,so original paint is a big thing for you.Is it a one owner car?If so, maybe the original owner has the original decklid with original paint.

Maybe,if the car is that nice with all the options you are looking for,use the added aero kit and try to get it a little cheaper.Just a thought

What color is the car?Is it a 97 or 98?

Thanks. It is a guards red '98. I have gone back to the owner with this info and asked for his best price. I think he suspected the lid wasn't factory installed, but was hoping it was somehow missing on the sticker. He does not have the original lid. Gorgeous car otherwise though! If the price is right, I'll do a PPI and buy it if it passes.

Yep, spoiler switch is there...never thought to look at that...I'm an aerokit virgin

Thanks once again for all of your help...I owe you one!

I have a 96 with the aerokit 2 wing. I had a few questions that the previous owner could not answer. I did have a lot of paperwork from the owner before him. I found that owner through Linked in. That owner has the original deck lid still and is going to ship it to me. Maybe you could track down the prior owner as well?

This is the option sticker with the codes XD1 & XD2 for the factory aero kit. Also listed on the window sticker under Exclusive Options without the codes:
