+ 1 for Sumi on wet pavement. This is me at my first DE a few years ago in a drenching rain. If you could blow up the picture you could see the terrified look on my instructor's face while he chanted "Please don't lift, please don't lift...". The tires held beautifully even with my inexperienced *** behind the wheel.

Sounds like the rain didn't turn you off to track driving.

It's the best way to learn smoothness, particularly with pedal inputs. I'm curious -- did your instructor have you driving the traditional racing line, or a rain line? Albeit much slower, the traditional line forces you to be smooth.

Appreciate the comments in this thread. I just noticed that the tires on my C4S are quite old despite having good tread (rears are from 2006 and fronts are from 1999!) so Im going to replace these with a set of HTR ZIIIs since they seem like a great value. I wish they also had 997 appropriate sizes as I also have to replace the tires on my 997. Looks like I will go with MPSS on that one at more than 2X the price of the Sumis on the 993.
