Ben (BLT4SPD) and I were communicating with Jim, trying to setup another coffee get together a little while back and received some cryptic emails in response. We realized he had a stroke, and was having a hard time typing.
I looked him up today and noticed he is still logging in, and I'm sure reading the 993 forum. I know he loves driving that gorgeous 993 Cab of his and probably not enjoying watching it sit in his driveway.

I wanted to let you know, and hopefully you can let him know, we all hope for a speedy recovery and cheering him on.

Thanks for posting Tony! I was hesitant to say anything as well!

i am currently back in home continuing the normalization process and doing very well. Driving has been restricted until i get an ok from my doctor in possibly 4 more months

Warm regards to all, and looking forward to getting back on the road again, in the meanwhile i must have patience.

Thanks again.
Jim!!! Really, REALLY glad to hear that you are doing better. For me, it's always one of those situations where I think "Should I email him......should I call him......does he want to talk about it......do *I* want to talk about it...." In my heart, I know I should move beyond that and just call, but then my brain takes over and starts saying "no" again......and then one of my kids usually kicks me in the shin and then.......well, we won't discuss what comes next.

I still owe you a detail on that beautiful car of yours and I'd still love to do it. So, when you're up to it, let me know and I make the time to come over and fire up the polisher! PROMISE!

Please take care of yourself and call or e-mail if you need anything....even if it's just a cup of coffee!

Best wishes! My father went through something similar about a decade ago, and recovery is possible and will happen... but requires work and patience. Hang in there and keep working on it. In the mean time, I highly recommend the book "My Stroke of Insight":

Many think of a Colorado as a beautiful state, but I can vouch it's so much more so when Jim's 993 is on the road.

As many have said, brother: here's to a Speedy recovery!

Just heard from Jim! An update for all his friends: His hard work at physical therapy's paid off & he's in great shape.
Since his last RL post >8 months ago, he's attacked the Rocky Mountains with determination, & successfully gotten back into 1 of his passions, skiing
Big news about getting back into another of his passions: Jim says he & his cab are ready for spring!

Jim-- You told me you lurk on RL. Can't wait to see you "back in the saddle" again. Seeing your Baltic Blue in motion makes life brighter & better.
Congratulations on your speedy recovery

Motivational memories that may help get you back on the trail:
