Default Wevos installed. Impressions!!

So I finally got around to getting my Black pillow wevos installed. I replaced them due to the fact the drivers side mount was blown. Impressions so far. Nothing really changed. I noticed no real difference in vibration within the car. The handling I guess feels more planted but nothing overly noticable. It does sound as thought the motor is louder though. Is it just my imagination?

I just did the RS mounts and I noticed the car shaking a bit at idle.

Did you notice a change in shifter feel? This is where I noticed it the most change, the little bit of vagueness the shifter had before certainly disappeared.

My mounts were shot, new RS mounts tightened everything up. More vibration for me at idle.

Hey Steven,

No change in shifter feel at all. Again really the most noticable change was the noise the motor made. It seems like its rougher sounding but that might just be in my head!

I'm thinking it will take longer to get the car on stands then it will to change the motor mounts.

For me it was 20 minutes per side, going very slow and taking my time so as to not strip out any bolts or make any mistakes. Very easy DIY, the only challenging part was cleaning up the nasty goop that came out of the old motor mounts. both mine were cracked and leaked goop all over the garage floor.

Can anyone comment on whether these mounts will cause my engine to sound a lot more rough? Almost seems like the motor is knocking now. Don't really hear it when the windows are down but when they are up the engine makes a terrible racket!!!

Just installed the blacks on my C4S, together with reinforced engine carrier. Definitely a difference. Rougher, YES. Feel it in your bum, your hands on the wheel but passenger probably not so much. More obvious with windows up... you can hear more of the engine's little noises as well. I like it alot, but some will not. I had fabspeed supercups before so my tolerance for noise is higher.

They transfer more mechanical vibrations from the engine to the unibody, and so more reaches the cabin. The ac compressor sounds a bit like a supercharger....

Well I can't stand it! It makes it sound as though the car has a major engine knock. Going to have to buy a set of stock mounts!

Thats too bad. I did the Blue ones from Wevo, and it changed the car for AX, major difference in the handling. On the street it just feels a little tighter in the back end. More planted. I also did a LWF and GT3 clutch/pressuse plate, so mine is louder, but not just from the Wevo's ;-)

I recommend the Wevo's.. Especially if you AX... Your milage may vary...
