It certainly is a radical design, but the package has merit. One can't help but wonder what this race may look like in another 10 years.

Sad to see the Delta get creamed. But, that car doesn't present much visibility of itself, particularly in black. It also looked to take the impact pretty damned well. While it hit at an angle, there was some momentum when it struck.

Guess you haven't followed development of the Delta Wing. That could have been the spec chassis for Indycar. How many owners expressed interest in it? Ganassi financed it, and Don Panoz was also involved.

I think they'll get back into the race fairly soon. It was a shame, but I agree that visibility is not great on that thing.

I think Ganassi a lot of the early development when it was being floated as a possibility for the new Indy car, but Papa Don brought a big bag of money with him when he jumped into the project. Panoz is such a great patron of Motorsports!

Marino Franchitti tweeted a pic of his mom holding one of the front wheels with a tire mounted on it the other day to give more perspective as to how small they really are.

Looks like a DSR out there in the field.

They just now announced its retired-but they ran 1000km and 6 hours-job well done!

From here on in, if you look up "Punt" in racing terminology on Wiki, they'll show the clip of the Delta's incident.

Great fun.
I didn't get to go but it was special year since we sponsored the TRG car. We should do it again.

Regarding that delta wing.... Sorry guys but I don't like it at all... Belongs to Bonneville salt flats.
