Default Which modern Porsche would you pick.

Let's say that you have to upgrade to a more modern 911, which one would you choose? This would be an every day car, not a track rat.

1. 997 C2/S

or.

2. 996TT

The 996GT3 is out.

The 997, but only from 2009 on after they fixed the IMS problem that could grenade the engine.

996 Turbo. No IMS issues, crazy performance, great every day driver comfort.

I'd pick the 997 C2S.... But I don't want to pick just one. Which is why I have a 997 C2S and am buying my father's (modified 600+hp) 996TT when he is ready to let it go.

Uh, yep. And I was offered a sorta-unloved but still decent enough one about a month ago by one of the dealers where I have vending machines for $31800. Having just dropped Carrera GT money on the house-purchase-on-a-whim, no way was my wife going to sign off on that.

So looking at the results so far, we can conclude that I join Falcon and Ilko as the only guys who don't like the engines in our cars to potentially go "boom"........

I voted 997 assuming it was a 997.2. Looks count for a lot and the engine upgrade is noticeable.

Voted as well, comparison made with 991 and 997 Carrera4 GTS. Performance on par with both cars. PDK far superior. Best part: depreciation hit taken by someone else.
