Default Pictures of recently completed projects...........>

This last winter I took my 1996 C4 off the road for multiple projects.

Original To-Do list:
- Front bumper fit & finish (irregular body gaps)
- Repair door check-strap (broken weld and extremely poor repair)
- remove and save rear spoiler; install split grill

Final completed project list:
- Turbo-look bumper replaced with new OE NB bumper. License plate holes filled. OE RS Splitters and OE NB under trays both painted to match.
- Clear bra installed on all front bumper surfaces including RS Splitters, turbo ducts, etc.
- Replaced non-OE turbo ducts with OE parts. Converted 5W to LED's.
- Replaced hundreds of parts (bolts, screws, speed nuts, series resistors, wheel liners, brackets, etc.). All new OE parts installed to replace mismatched hardware in poor condition.
- Cosmoline removed on all wheel wells and liners.
- All body panels were inspected from the inside to confirm no rust or past damage.
- Rocker panels were taken down to bare metal and refinished per factory spec. Both sides were discolored and clear coat was flaking off.
- Driver door check-strap welded per factory specification and refinished.
- Rear Spoiler removed, saved, and replaced with two-tone split grill.
- Spolier transmission replaced in addition to various rubber and hardware bits.

I am very pleased with the final product! Fit and finish is now up to my standard.

Looks great Tony! But what about the most important improvement of all - the installation of the cassette holder?...

Thanks! I've been gathering original parts (cassette holder, Cup II wheels, etc.) so it can be put back to original......... if somebody ever wanted to.

I like the black C2S grille inserts with the black Carrera 4 emblem. Nicely done!

Thanks. The inserts are actually a Porsche Color (Salt Lake Grey or Titan Blue). They look like a medium gray metallic with some blue. Great match for Polar Silver and they look different under different lighting.

Looks great.

I need to repair the door check on my Arena Red car, but fortunately it's in the early stages (no damage to the A pillar). Did you do all your welding from the outside?. I have a good shop that wants to cut a window and weld from behind, but I'd prefer not to go down that road for a number of reasons.

TIA,
Joe

My shop cut a window to weld it from behind. Very solid and no issues with fitment of door.

Me too! :-) it has been a real challenge to photograph. In direct sunlight it almost looks like a shadow on Polar Silver.

This photo is what it looks like to my eye in daylight:

Thank you!

I didn't know how bad it was needed until I started taking parts off! :-)
