Where do you start debugging the cruise control?

The left of the two rods circled. if you can pull it out towards you, it is off the cruise control linkage.

Update.
Not sure what happened, as I KNOW it was working and then wasn't, and that my brakelights were working.

I tore apart the floor, checked switch, drove several times. Nothing.

Tried again and looked at the fuse. Wasn't even there!! Replaced, all good. I don't get it as I had someone confirm my brake lights awhile ago too.

In any case, works, thx for your help.
