Default FS: (2) Continental Extreme Contact DW tires - 265/35/18

I have sold my wheels and will go with a wider rear tire than I've used over the last 6 years.

I purchased this set of Continental Extreme Contact DW tires on October 26, 2011. The tires were installed and then carried home in my truck. I made one 25-mile drive with fellow Rennlister nsully before putting the car on stands. As such, the tires are nearly indistinguishable from new.

I paid $484 total and am offering them for $450, shipped. The first PM with a firm commitment gets the tires. I would like payment sent via PayPal.

Andreas, how do/did you like the performance of this tire?

Mr. No,
I've only used Continental Sport Contact tires for the 993 over the last 6+ years. No complaints. I simply opted to go with a wider tire, so this set saw no more than 25 miles of use. A bit too short to comment on performance.
But the wider tires are Sport Contact DWs as well.

I just put a set on a few weeks ago for the summer. I had a set of DWS for winter duty and they impressed me enough to try the DW's. Overall I like them, though I don't think they're quite as kickass in the rain as some reviews make them out to be. That said, I did a half wet/half dry track day last week and I didn't die in a firey ball of oversteer..so not too shabby.

I'd call them a good choice for a street-centric tire; not so soft that they're bars of soap in the morning, but they served me well on the track for a street tire. Caveat - it was my first event in this car so I wasn't quite trying to punish them at 10/10ths. I'd buy them again, especially for pure street use (I'm sure in the next event or two as the car and I get acquainted I'll be over-cooking them after a couple hot laps!).

Andreas - did you go with the 285/30/18 ? Reason I am asking is that I have had these on order from
Tire Rack for about 6 weeks! Still listed as back ordered. Did you order yours from Tire Discounters?

275/35/18. They are a bit wider than the 265/35 tires, and just a bit larger in diameter. The 285/30 tires are also wider, but they're smaller in diameter than the stock 265/35 tires.

I picked the 275 over the 285 as I'd rather have the tire size get closer to stock diameter as it wears, than farther away. They were ordered from Tire Rack.

Make sense?

Andreas - thanks for the info. I have had 285/30/18's on my car for the past 5 years and have been happy with the performance of the P-Zero's. If I can't get the 285's then I may switch down to the the 275's.

I also have 2 Contnental Extreme Contact DW's 275/35-18 that I don't need and would sell. Put these on my 535i for a few miles then changed to Pilot Super Sports. They are virtually new. Paid $448, will sell for $400 shipped.
