I have had both the Hankook Ventus V12's and the Sumitomo HTZ III's. Both I think are great tires for the money.

The Sumi IIIs are great tires. I've run them on my 993 and 944. They are very quiet, smooth ride and great grip. Go to TireRack and you can look up the test comparison on them. TR is a great resource for tire tests and their prices are hard to beat. There has been quite a bit of favorable feedback from the guys who have bought the Hankooks too so these seem like a very good choice also.

If I recall, Dunlop is the parent company for Sumitomo, and Michelin for Hankook.

A few years back I started a thread on the Sumis that ran to 22 pages. I'm still waiting for my kickback from Damien though...
