+1 Sumitomo HTRZ II or III. The II can be flipped midway thru its life since it's directional but symmetrical but the III is a more technically advanced tire. There are better tires out there but, for what they are, they're a bargain.

Do NOT buy the Sumi HRTZ II, it is night and day from the HRTZ III, which is a great tire. I have the Sumi HRTZ III's on my car and they are a great tire for the money.

The Sumi HRTZ II is not a very good tire at all.

+1. I had the HTR Z IIs on my 911SC, absolutely HORRIBLE tire, almost scared me from ever buying Sumitomo again.

I did try the HTR Z IIIs which I have on the 993 and they are pretty decent, especially for the price. Good value, but if you need performance, there are better tires.

I have Hankook Ventus V12 evo tires. Absolutely love them. Great looking tire and wear has been great. I will buy them again.

As I've said before, got about 10K on mine on the 4S and flipped the rears because I noticed a hint of uneven wear. Rears now should be good for another 10K. (If I ever drive the car again--it's "moved" less than 200 miles since I got back from Rennsport Reunion in October. Downside of working again..........)

And since I needed some street tires for Ed's old car Ruby, I got some 225/255-17s for it last week. Couldn't complain about the price--just over $400 with Hankook's rebate. Had a spare moment to mount them up, and an even rarer moment to actually drive the car a few miles that night. What a difference! Almost made to car bearable to drive on the third world roads we have around here.
