Guys,
Looking for recommendation on tires for 993 C4S, 18' stock sizes.
Mostly street summer tires with 2 DE's a season?
Know about PS2's but looking to spend less. Any good Toyo options?

I would still recommend the Michelin 225/40 285/30 PS2 N3. You get what you pay for.

Just went through the same process. Bought Continental Extreme Contact. Ride smooth as glass, hate the way they look. Have Michelin Pilot Sport on the Twin Turbo. If I were to do it over again, and I just may, I would go with the Pilot Sports.

Went with the Sumitomo HTRZ III this time around from Tire Rack. Good recommendations and price is so much less than the Michelins. Can't say I can tell any performance difference on the street so really happy so far. As fast as the rear burns through tires, it's hard to justify the Michelin price for street use.

For reasons of replacement I am on Bridgestones, would prefer Michelin sports and would get either Falken or Hankook if price was a big issue.

Just drove my first 100 miles on new Michelin Pilot Super Sports on Saturday. Light years better ride than the Birdgestone S02A's. They seem to stick like glue, almost zero road noise and no jumping around over road cracks and strips. Fantastic. My car is a 1997 C2 with 18" TT. Wow !!

Hankook Ventus's here...I got 13K miles out of my first set of rears. My 97 C4S came with Michelin's on it, but they were toast after just 4k miles..too aggressive of camber settings, but it was the PO's track toy.

I simply can't justify the Michelins for street use, especially since I drive almost 10K miles per year. Honestly, the Hankooks are impressive for street use, and ALOT cheaper too.

I have the super sports as well.. did really well at the track this weekend! recommended!

One IMPORTANT note on tires - This is the most important thing on your car, ONLY thing that touches the ground, so i never suggest trying to save a few dollars here (& you are driving a porsche!) I know someone who went cheap and ended up in a wall in the wet. your choice.

The TT I just purchased came with freshly mounted Hanncook Ventus V12's. I'm certain they are not the best track day tire, but they are quiet, give a nice ride, give ample warning before letting go and their limits are well below what I would ever exceed on public roads.

If you're not too worried about tread life, I might check out the Hankook R-S3. They were the last tires I had on my previous car and I really, really liked them for the money. I'd have gotten them this time around but they're on backorder in 17" sizes..

If those are a bit extreme, the Conti DW's might be the in-between ticket. Mine go on tomorrow!
