::How long do you plan on keeping your 993?::

Only alien abduction and relocation to another planet would separate me from my 993. Of course, I'd ask ET if he/she/it would let me bring her along, which they might appreciate as the pinnacle of human aircooled automotive engineering? After combining the RS LWF&C with a factory fitted G50-21 and VR, I can't see, for me, how I'd better what I've got now!

i have put a little more than 2500 miles in 1 year on the car, i have had to top off the oil over the year but only 1 quart so far, im just worried because the car has 115,000 miles but its crazy because it looks better than other 993s with more than half as many miles (interior wise).

I own three 993's and they will be with me until I go. For those of you that think the turbo is the pinical, think again. For daily driving and all around fun I will take my NB NA 993(RS clone) over my turbo any day and every day. The turbo simply brings to much attention , takes to much concentration and is not as much fun to drive as the two wheel drive car. The NA engine with proper gearing is far more exploitable for back road hooliganism.
"Two idiots one thought" . . . . its an ole German idiom, no offence intended.
When ordering the 993, after the benifit of day long test drives, the order set as a loaded MY98 C2S; optioned step for step with the Turbo range and them some... sans the Turbo & the weighty AWD. (recall, there was trunk money to the dealer in '97) Shortly there after came the gearbox swap for a ROW '96 G50/21 w/LSD, RS LWF, RS short shift and the ROW M033 suspension way back in 2000. It's a hoot of an understated 911 coupe, wide body and all. Long live Hooliganism !

Plan on keeping mine forever... Unless a pristine 993 turbo of the right color combo were to come along... that would be the only thing that might induce me to sell her.

Im not that romantic. I love my 993, and there are only two other Porsches that I would consider to replace my car:
2008 911 GT3 RS (dry sump, unlike run-of-the mill 997s)
Singer 911
But those cars require heavy cash, and if some of my long term projects work out, I will replace my 993 with one of the previous. HOWEVER, I am not worried in the least, I love my 993 more than any other car I have ever owned.

Hard to say as I just bought the car 3 weeks ago
I can't imagine getting rid of it based on the size of my **** eating grin every time I get in it

To those of you saying "until I buy a(ny) GT3", I've been there, done that. Had a series of Porsches including 997 GT3 and this "newest Porsche to me" 993 is the keeper long-term. I'm glad to have gone through the process and tried so many (964, 987 Boxster S, 997.1S, 997.1 GT3, 997.2S w/ SPASM). I've done the track thing, including instructing. But none of that compares with rolling the 993 out of the garage on a beautiful day to go for a spin. The sound and feel of this car is to me the pinnacle of the brand.

I've had two 993's but currently have none. I would like to build a 993RS style car like Pstraub's. I loved my 993TT but I do not think that it is a well balanced car. Fast as can be and its a 993 but I think that absolute power corrupted the pureness of the car. The 993 NA NB that I had was a much better rounded car.
