Default ::How long do you plan on keeping your 993?::

First of all Happy easter! Im celebrating by studying for the MCAT all by myself in Chicago.

Second, I have two cars. The 993 and a 330ci which has been NICELY modified as a show car, not ghetto haha. I need to sell a car, either the 993 or the 330. Im sure I can get more money out of the 993 considering I have irresponsibly put tons of money into the 330. If I do sell the 330, I was planning on keeping the 993 as long as I possibly can. What do you guys think?
Excluding any external factors and considering your life as a whole would stay as is right now or get better, how long would YOU keep your 993?

Only death, destruction, destitution, or outright theft shall do us part.

I think you're asking the wrong question here. Most of us are not planning on getting rid of our 993s any time soon. That's a given.

You say you need to sell one of your cars. For what reasons? Financial, lack of garage space, etc? Whatever you did to that BMW don't expect to get much (or any for that matter) of it in return if you sell it. The 993 OTOH will bring you more cash if you sell it, especially since prices have been slowly rising lately.

So which car do YOU prefer to own and if it's the 993, can you live with it year round?

Best of luck with your decision!

Let's see if you can answer your own question. Which car do you think would be more difficult to find if you were in the market to buy another? Which car do you think would hold its value longer? Which vehicle would be more desireable as time goes by? See how easy that was?

I have to sell it for garage space and the fact that both cars are going to loose value in the future. If I keep the 993 and sell the BMW, I would probably keep it for a long time. So my question was if you guys are also planning on keeping your 993 for a while

I have had more interest in my BMW than the 993 since I put them for sale.
Dumb me that I didnt sell it to the last couple of potential buyers who offered me 14.5 for the BMW, KBB says the car is worth 11, I have put 25k in that car and it was repainted at the BMW dealer so the paint is perfect. No I wasnt expecting to get 20k for the car, but I was looking to get 16k. The car has the best of everything, audio, interior, mechanics... Next person who offers me around 14.5-15 I will sell it.

I'll be buried with my C4S, or go out James Dean style.

The 330 is a common car (I have a 2005 E46 330i) and depreciating heavily as most modern mass produced cars would. The 993 however has been appreciating throughout the Great Recession. Last of air-cooled mostly hand built cars, highly desired, leaving our shores in droves as the world market for all things precious escalates. Easy decision.

I will always have at least one 993. Funny thing, I've now owned my 95 for six years which is the longest I've ever owned a car. Anything else that gets me excited is either too expensive (Ferrari), too expensive to maintain (Ferrari), or will depreciate faster than you can say ouch (anything new).
