Default Seriously, if you won the $640 mill in the Megamillions would you keep your 993?

I bought my first lottery ticket last night in Maryland but it wasn't the right 7-11 (. It was a store 40 minutes south of where one of the winning tickets were sold. Before I found out I didn't win the $640 million, I lay in bed this morning wondering what I'd do with all that money if I did win.

I thought - sell or give away the 993 and buy some cool exotic dream cars. Probably some cars I've been wanting like a Mercedes S63,

a new Porsche GT3,

maybe a 993 TT-S,

and a large SUV for when I go out on the town with a bunch of guys like the new Bentley SUV or some top of the line Range Rover.

Then there's the Carrera GT and ... well, the list goes on.

I was so excited. I lay there thinking I really could win. But of course I didn't.

In the state of Md. you can remain anonymous which I definitely would have done.

And I would quit my job on Monday ).

I'd be a philanthropist. I could always get a Lambo like this guy in our area (see the amazing link below if you haven't read this - incredible article) and dress up like Batman or another super hero and give goodies away to sick kids in hospitals.

But, I have to go back to work on Monday now... Oh well. Per chance to dream. And, I went out to the garage this afternoon and thoroughly cleaned, claybarred for the first time and and waxed my 993 and it looks KILLER! Claybarring is highly underrated. Wish I wasn't so lazy to have waited 9 years to do it. Very happy with the results and the car looks almost as good...as a new GT3.

But, if I did win those megamilions, I wonder if I'd ever check back in on this board if I didn't own the 993 in any variant anymore and owned these killer new cars instead?

If I won, not only would I keep my 993 but I'd buy about 10 more of them in various configurations and colors!

It would not change my appreciation for my lowly '95 993. But I'd place a call with 9M the following work day and arrange for it to be shipped over for a thorough & complete restoration.

I am so thoroughly satisfied with Rufus, that I really don't lust after anything else. Although... there is a McLaren dealer not too far away. Ok... never mind.

I would keep the 993, and do some more mods: transmission, wheels, etc.

I wouldn't get any exotics, but I would get about 10 more cats.

F*ck yeah, I'd keep the 993. But I'd also get a McLaren F1, 288 GTO, 250 GTO, 917 and a few other cars.

As far as the car goes only 3 things would change: Full carbon-fiber interior kit, complete RUF package, and the addition of a large number of exotic stable mates.

I hit 4 of 5 on one of my 100 auto-picks, and netted $62!

But no question I'd dump everything presently in the fleet and start over with blue chip examples. Likely mostly all air cooleds, and a few vintage--935 K3 and '74 IROC immediately come to mind. No matter what, I can't imagine owning something I don't have the expertise and can't work on.

Bigger thing I would absolutely have done is buy a large piece of land somewhere to build the Mother Of All Racetracks. And have a fleet of various proper race cars (production and sports racers) available for all to come on over to join in on the fun.

I got two regular and the power ball number too. If I had only splurged for one more ticket, DARN IT, I would be telling all of my co-workers to KISS my grits and every other nasty clich'e I could think of. But to answer your question, yes, that B#$@th would be customized to the most insane TT ever.

I would keep my 993 and buy a warehouse and start filling it up with wahtever I liked. I would have old cars, new cars, and anything realated to the car culture. I can promise you this I would be a big spender at Barret Jackson.

My 993 would be #1 of the Hughes Car Collection. When I die someday, RM Auctions would have full page ads in all the major mags advertising the sale of my collection.
