Default Replacement for Spark plugs cable

Just found a weired "tick tick"sound came from the engine bay and was told by my mechanic I need a new set of cable. Any recommendation? OE or Beru? Or any other recommend brand?

Hi
I fitted the complete Beru set, they are the Porsche part, but with Beru.
Interesting with the complete Beru leads, in some spots the Porsche part number had been removed, compared to the original leads on the car.
The new leads are silicon, so they should last longer.

I had the same tick, tick noise as well, it was the lower middle right side lead that was damaged, causing the issue.

Thanks,

Hi Neil

Are you the famous chef Neil? haa...
I found the Beru cables from design911. they cost GBP$250, 40% cheaper then the OE. Still trying to look for the upgrade one if possible...

Hi
You can purchase the leads from Pelican Parts LA or FD Motorsports San Fran US.
I think Pelican Parts (Beru) are US$425.00
Bob Whyms- Sydney Aftermarket Porsche dealer parts (Beru) AUS$780.00
Porsche Aust (Porsche) AUS$1,200.00

Probably find FD Motorsports the best bet..

Thanks,

US$474.75 on the Pelican site.

His other option is to order the Beru replacement cables from Pelican Parts for $169 (about AU$160). Sorry, I'm taking a break from making Beru cable sets...have enough customers on a waiting list.

Another option if he is inclined to do so and has other Porsche owners in the area, is to order up the Beru crimping tool, cable and M3 terminals and make a few sets for everyone in the area.

All that needs to be done is unscrew the connectors from the old set and put them on the above

not a bad way to go.

Yes, that plus snap the old cable hold-downs onto the new cables. Locations for the hold-downs are on my DIY site.

After that, the installation, be it "replacement cables" or the "complete Beru cables with connectors", is the same.

I went that route except I decided to make my own cables which isn't a deal after buying the proper Beru crimping tool. In my case, I have recouped that cost by sharing the price of the crimper over the sets of cables I have made so far.

That is something you might consider doing. Buy the crimper, make a cable set for yourself and split the cost with some locals in need of cables and then rent the crimper out to other RLers.

Looks like $87 shipping to BC for a total of $420 is still the cheapest. Except for that deal I found ebay.

You lucked in!

And I bet they can ship them for less than that for a package that might be 12 x 12 x 4 inches and 4 pounds at the most.

I just shipped some cables to Europe and it ran the buyer $65 for 4-day service.
