Default Split Back

I am buying a 1997 C4S and it does not have the split back wing. I was looking at the pictures here and I see that some of the posted C4S pictures also do not have the split back.

I understand that this is a desirable feature. My questions for the experts on the forum are:

1. Is the split back exclusive to the C2S?
2. If the C4S is supposed to have the split back, can I purchase an aftermarket part for it?
3. How does having or not having the split back affect the value of the car?

Thanks for your reply.

1. Yes.
2. It's not supposed to but you can buy an OEM part. There are no aftermarket split grilles.
3. If it's a C4S, having the stock grille won't affect the value negatively. Having the split grille might MARGINALLY increase the value for people looking for a tastefully modified car, while decreasing it for others who look only for a stock example.

Thanks for the quick reply Ilko.
I see you have a C4S in the picture and it has a split grill.
Is that your car?
If you purchsed the split grill, what is the cost?
Anything else I should know about the C4S when doing the PPI?
Is the front axel something that needs to be checked out extensively?
If I have the option b/n a C2S and a C4S, which one should I buy?
Is the C2S more expensive than the C4S?

Thanks.

Very nice!!! Congrats!

Do you know what tail pipes you have? I'm not sure but they do not look like the OEM tips.

Cam, how has the car been for driving in the heat there? Any sand problems?

No sand issues but on days where its +40C I don't drive her. The warmer temps do effect the 993 in that the temp gauge immediately goes up to half way mark and then sits between it and full temp. If I'm driving on the highway and there's a constant flow of air then the gauge will sit at half way but its still not cool...

My A/C is wickedly cold though...go figure! Freezes me out at number 2 setting.

Here's a picture from this weekend:

^^ Congrats Cam, she's a beauty. I'm a bit surprised at the Dubai license plates being the 'shorty' type like we have in North America ... no need for bumper changes then.

Jon - you can either have the short stubby ones or the long slim horizontal ones...

Pong - I'm now at 59,692...

Gorgeous car. Congratulations. Love the new wheels too, though I'd never stray from 993 turbo twists. They are they best looking wheel Porsche ever designed imo.

Congrats again.
