Default Porsche "Classic Sat Nav" Radio

This would work well in the 993. The AM band might be wonky but wondering if a US navigation disc would enable the GPS.

The unit looks too retro for the 993 in my opinion
My CDR-210 is far more correct but I'm not that interested in Nav for this car as it opens a whole bunch of issues to address such as wiring antenna disks and location of their unit etc
And then you have to think about the time when you want to bring the car back to its original specs too
Nice try Porsche Classic but I'll stick with my trusty Becker

i buried the antenna for my old Audi under the dash. Worked perfectly.

I think i may pick up a Euro Becker 7990. I have navigation on my iPhone.

Built in navs go out of date too quickly. How often do you really need a nav system? One of every 10 to 20 drives?

A portable nav is the way to go. Within 2 to 3 years, new maps and features will make it obsolete, but it's easy and cheap to replace.

+1 I got the Garmin 1490 with lifetime updates.

Plus I can make my car into the "BLACK PEARL"

kinda like the retro look, maybe in an SC or 3.2 Carrera it looks more age appropriate. I am pretty happy with my CDR-220 iPod set up.

I had a cdr 220 that i sold on to a reenlist member recently. I have a 210 in my car now, but I was thinking why am I replacing this radio with something that is still quite old tech?

Same on the 993. The GPS antenna fits neatly under the front dash, works well and is completely hidden. If I ever want to go back to a stock headunit I'll just leave it there. By the way, it also works under the rear deck behind the seats but it's a longer run for the wire so IMHO it's easier to put up front.

Traffic Pro. Not the best GPS but it works when I need it. The rest of the headunit is basically a CDR-220. I like the stock look.
