for someone that maintains these ASW-19 Sailplane, Hunter 26 Sailboat
modifying a lift must have seemed relatively trivial.
well done!

Comments from another hacker .... but with my lift, I have scribe lines on the floor corresponding to the center of the LF wheel hub for each of my fleet ( so the car is correctly positioned) ....... and four 10" squares of 3/4" plywood to lay on specifically marked spots just for the 993.
Toss the high tech spacers on the floor, drive in and lift. The lift's pads had just rubbed on the swing under the Carrera's chassis, so I went with plywood vs the preferred solution of a well done cut & weld.

Yeah, I do the same - have "runway" lines painted on the floor in fluorescent paint to center the car. I have the lines running all the way from front to back so I can tell the car's front and rear are centered. My pads are quite low, I have only found one car so far that I cannot just lift - a severely lowered GT3. That required the "Garth-approved" plywood pads... LOL!

cheers,

Mike

I don't know Rock. I don't think this thing is properly verified until I see it lift Arena Red.

Well, it lifts Guards Red just fine, so it might work. Is Arena Red heavier or lighter than GR?

Default Vehicle vs Lift orientation for One . . .

Thanks, Garth S -
Being a 2-post Lift newbie a few years ago, the present-day COVID-19 restriction provides the time to enhance the Lifts use between cars. Better late, than never, as I follow your suit; A striped left of centerline for this,, and a left of centerline for that. Add a four-set of plywood squares for the 993 & 981. BINGO!

Easy execution of an elegantly simple solution. Cheers,

THAT is one Great Modification job there!!!!! Very Well Done

I too have a Mohawk two post lift and had the upright posts placed wider than the instructions said. I also installed very large sponge pads to protect the door hitting and 2 x 6" wood ramps so the lift arms clear.
You took this to a super high level of quality.

I might suggest installing a electrical disconnect switch box right near the motor/switch assembly. I don't know if Mohawk corrected the push
button switch to a better one. Some years ago (more than 12 years) my lift switch welded closed and popped the circuit breaker. When I reset the breaker, my car was driven up into a overhead I-Beam!!! I posted this saga on this forum. I 'only' apply power when using the lift.

I will take some pix of what I suggested and post them.

Keep the fine work up!

Here are some pix of my Mohawk lift with power disconnect and wood ramps.

Sorry, my M5 is currently on the lift in the pix...
