Thoughts on this 1997 S, 30k miles, $61,999 ask?
Took her out for drive this morning and was impressed, but am unsure about the price. Any insight on the proper valuation?
Thanks in advance.

The Sport Seats and Aero 2 kit are very appealing. So is the mileage. But the price I believe to be about 10k too high.

At this price:
1. Detailed maintenance records? Should be complete. This does not mean the 15K stamp in the book...car should have had a complete 30K at some point based on age..car should have had ALL fluids
changed at least once...brake fluid more...what other maintenance has been done...new shocks?
2. Paint should be prefect. You need someone who knows what they are doing to take a meter and a good eye and inspect the paint and body
3. Detailed PPI
4. What options did the car come with? Factory Aero has some valve although I think the general market prefers the 993 without the Aero kit...especially the rear
IF everything above is A+ I would say hi 50's if you really like the color combo. If a lot of the above does not pass muster could be even more than 10K too high.

4 months back when I bought mine I passed on a few 30k examples that were in the mid $50s. There's no "normal" market price for low mile C2S. I think the bottom line is to find a car you really want, and then negotiate as best you can. It's not like there are 10 silver 30k 97-98 C2S you can compare prices on.
I think most would probably put a $3k premium on the sport seats, so if all else being equal it feels like a $55k car to you, then add a little. I'm not a fan of the aero kit, so some might say premium, others like me wouldn't buy regardless of the price.

I paid $10,000 more for a 97TT with 23,000 miles, a fresh top end job, ROW H&R, new tires. Except for one bad valve guide (hence fresh top end job) it was a stellar PPI. I'm saving this car for Slickster85. I think this was a fair deal, not a great deal...I've never gotten one of those.....There's a saving in the boat business "there are great deals and there are great boats...which would you like?"

Ageed. $10k too much. Even if Aero II is factory (like mine) and all equipment matches codes and sticker. I picked up mine for much less with 39k miles and more factory options, not to mention window sticker and all docs.

I agree that it's $10K high. Aftermarket gauge faces don't look quite right (I love the normal 'Carrera S' that should be on the tach face). Lots of leatherette (vinyl) in that interior. I noticed the dash (upper and lower), the center console, the rear seats and looks like the door panels/handles/lids are all vinyl. For that price, I would want a full leather interior, even though the sport seats are nice. My $.02

FYI, Only the standard black gauges have Carrera S splashed across them. All others (aluminum, painted, etc.) from the factory do not. For example, my car has the aluminum face gauge package and there is no script and I never missed it because I know I'm driving an S - don't need the reminder

Looks like a great example. I had a similar C2S with the aerokit albeit with 100K more miles, standard seats and $30K less. Thought I'd come to like it over time but preferred the split grille much more over the fixed wing.
The price is in line with some of the high end dealers like Truespeed and Sloan.
The aerokit option from the factory was quite expensive, in the $7K range. While it's not for everyone, the right buyer will come along on this car. There are fewer low mile examples of these for sale.

Sure, if there is a crack in the lens or a broken seal. I've heard that oil drops on the garage floor are also 'normal' for these cars. At the price they're asking there should be no oil leaks or condensation in the light housings.
