Congratulations! Quite a milestone for you!
"Maybe a early 70s 911 "driver" is in order." I think that's a hell of an idea!

Finally got the title for our 993 C2S today after paying it off a few weeks ago.
'Tis a great feeling being debt free...(Except for Mortgage and STOOOOPID Student loans)
Tempted to go out and get my wife something she "deserves" but is still in love with her Fiat 500.

Congrats! If I were you, I'd just enjoy being (relatively) debt free for awhile and not think about another 911 already! Actually never mind I'd be thinking more about mods

Congrats, I know the feeling. Paid off the 993 a few years ago. Paid the Touareg off last year. Recently paid off the R32 and Airstream. Everything that rolls on wheels in my fleet is all mine. Nice not having car payments and I plan on keeping it that way.
I did pay cash for my K1200RS. But that was only $4200.

Isn't that the true spirit of Rennlist where car enthusiasts get together to help each other? There are many posts where QC gave valuable advice saving people money. Would those posts have more merit if he paid for a membership and then give the advice? Should he continue to be generous with his knowledge as a nonpaying member or not?
We all come from different walks of life. That is what makes this board great.

I am unclear where your intentions are with this comment and the other Rennlist membership statement but I will say that Oliver saved me a few hundred dollars the other week. Instead of paying $300 to RUF Dallas to change out a few belts, I bought parts from Suncoast plus rear brake discs for that amount and will be working on my car with him.

True. In a vacume. However, the gentleman in question stirs the pot in a fairly smug/pompous way on every thread he posts on. It gets old when it SEEMS like his INTENT is to raise the hair on everyone elses neck. Why knock a guy who is celebrating ownership? There can be no reason except to cause trouble.
That said, despite others saying essentially the same thing as me, I get attacked.
And this is all fine. I don't care. I don't go home crying about what you people say about me. Call me a troll, a hater, a pot-stirrer, whatever. As I said, I'm not here to be friends with everybody. We can agree, we can disagree, and we can fight. Why not take the internet a bit less seriously and not worry when I say your new mod looks dumb, you shouldn't finance your 993, or that you taking a picture with your title is ridiculous.

And those are your strong points...
Congrates Sicko.... it is a great feeling.
I too paid off my home several years ago. Thought that was neat until I did my taxes. I immediately went out and bought investment property.

Well, then, let me clarify:
My intention is to point out that only those who are self-made/self sufficient are in a position to offer any financial advice to anyone else.
Those who needed help from Mommy/Daddy, were showered with generous financial largesse, or otherwise had their lifestyle subsidized by their parents are precluded from giving other people financial advice, because they needed help to get where they are.
People who received their parents help to make it are lovely people, but for them to offer unsolicited financial advise or perspective to others would make them appear moronic and hypocritical.
I actually like Quadcammer and was merely trying to help him avoid looking that pathetic.

My opinion of course but I don't think this is the right place for people to seek financial advice. You will have more problems if you are looking for financial advice here.

The tenets of delayed gratification, saving for the future, not financing depreciating assets, and wise investing are useful to everyone.
Do I detect some jealousy here btw?

Financial advice
There are so many members that NEED financial advice. They should take it where they can get it and say "thank you".
