No, I did not order the kit. It came with the initial project. that is an early picture before a stripped and painted the fan, housing, brackets, etc......... I tore it down this winter to change the keepers/springs, inserts on all the heads, etc. It made 350 whp , but should be a bit stronger now and better torque/top rpm. I am missing my picture file for the PS pump, but will take new pictures this weekend to post. My current project was buffing the Lexan windshield back to clear then a layer of tear offs. Major PITA. (7 levels of sanding , polishing)

Rick -
Thanks for the reply. I am glad to hear the good news about Clewett's serpentine design. I have consistently heard good things about them. Debating whether or not to "upgrade" some parts such as serpentine belt, coil pack ignition, electric PS pump when I take her out (engine that is) to spruce her up and put in my RS flywheel / clutch.

Bob -
Look forward to your picks for the electric PS pump. I'm still impressed with an 8whp increase from an electric PS pump. You said it was your friend who dyno'ed it. Pretty reliable source?

Marc, the sweet smell of the "slippery slope". The thing is, your list of components are all quality mechanical improvements, not like you are sweating whether or not to buy a carbon shift **** or painted center caps. Enjoy the pain of "I might as well while the engine is out."

Interesting, interesting, earlier someone mentioned the clewett belt is easier to change than the v-belts - is that really so?

Changing a belt on the Clewett system (964/993 RSR) takes about as long as it takes to open the engine lid, if you have no A/C. If you have A/C then it will take a little longer.

i have had the clewett system on my race car for 2 years now-run flawlessly. recently installed a clewett belt system on my street 993, which has a/c-was recommended without hesitation by my race shop that maintains my car. they say it is a better product than the original equipment. i also have a 997 electric PS pump on my race car. i can not tell the difference between the two systems (electric vs original). it is mounted where the spare tire was. i am not even considering installing this mod in my street car-why? 8 hp is no big deal in a street car vs possibly huge in a race car. not worth the hassle or risk in street car.

Can one of you guys w/ the Clewett setup post a picture of the tensioner bracket? Presumably it mounts to the 2 m6 bolts that otherwise hold the fan belt sensor? Does it pick up a 3rd bolt somewhere?

Looks great from this side:

Default 993 Electric PS pump installed

997 CUP Power steering Pump installation. Located front with new lines that feed directly to the steering rack. Definitely provides HP boost and yes we have done a direct comparison with and without on a dyno. I have run the pump while on the dyno to check the draw the on the alternator is makes. It is pretty loud (sounds a bit like a cuisinart.

Plug it with a male block off plug (like the ones with numbers on them on the left side of your engine compartment harness above the fuel rail), if you can find one, and fold it back on itself with a tie wrap. Porsche did that on the RS.
