Clewett Engineering - Serpentine Belt Kit
#35
$100 (or whatever the hub costs)? I thought you needed new pulley halves as well?
Edit: Just discovered what I was seeing on Pelican, the Rothsport pulley half, is an optional piece. Looks like I should probably do this mod while I'm replacing the alternator. Yeah, I should probably do that.

Like I said guys. If we had pictures it could probably answer a lot of our questions.
For what it's worth, here's a snapshot from their website.
Here's what they have to say about it:
Serpentine fan belt conversion - Porsche 1995-98, 993 with A/C
$615.00
We have the cure for broken or tossed fan belts, and faulty belt sensors on the 964 & 993 Porsche engines. This conversion kit replaces the factory V-belts for the fan and alternator to a serpentine belt and spring loaded tensioner.
Does this help anyone?

I looked into the clewett kit and did not like the size of the bolt that held the tensioner. It looked undersized for the spring load IMHO.
I opted to use Jerry Woods dual pulley RS kit but had a custom crank pulley made so I could run AC.
I was throwing belts at the track like crazy before the upgrade. Many different Porsche wrenches signed off on the tension/alignment and yet they would still fly off. Have not lost one since the upgrade.

That does not make sence!
I do not know who you spoke to that told you that because it uses a stock size A/C belt. If it needed a smaller one Clewett would have included it in there kit.

Kevin,
Here are two pictures of mine. Engine is just going in so this is a good time to look.
This is a full race 3.8 RSR setup so no AC, heat, Power steering, etc. The AC bracket is basically a spacer.
