Anyone heard of Carbotech?

I know of them, however we've never tried them on any of our cars.
Frankly, we have been just more than pleased with OEM Porsche street pads for later model cars and Pagid's for track use, without much incentive to do anything different.

No personal experience, but they seemed very well liked amongst the open trackers in my former non-Porsche camp. Bobcats are their street-oriented pad if I am not mistaken, about the same level as Hawk HPS, etc.

Terence,
Like anything else, the only way YOU will really know is if you try them for yourself to see how they compare to what you are currently using.

I have used Carbotech pads on my non-Porsche's for years and have been very pleased. I run the 1521's on my Infiniti Q45 and XP10's on my Spec Miata at the track. I find they perform well and are very easy on the rotors. The 1521's are a street pad and don't have a ton of initial bite, but are low noise, low dust and very easy on rotors. The track pads are also easy on rotors, but high dust of course.
I've not tried a set on a Porsche though. You'll have to let us know what you think.

I've used Carbotech autocross pads on the back of my MR2 and have driven several other cars with Carbotechs. They are an excellent product for the specific application and the guy who runs the company (Larry?) is sort of like Steve W.here - a great source of info and a good guy to talk to.
It's been a while, about 10 years, so this info might be dated.

Terence, they are actually a pretty small company with very... sort of word of mouth advertising and a one-guy owner who's more interested in talking to folks and discussing things than being a big company. Which is a good thing in my opinion.
