Xpost: was about to buy a GoPro...now this?
Anyone ever seen/played with this?

1080p, really small, all kinds of mounts, about 1/2 the price...
Thoughts?

Can't you get GoPro's for about $100ish now? I know they keep making better versions to keep the price up but I thought I saw the original 1080p ones for sale a while back for pretty cheap.
I have a ContourHD and love the image quality but I hate the sound quality.

Wireless remote?
That is a biggie feature....the $200 camera sounds good...note the GoPro can be mounted on the exterior of the car, on your surf board, or? I understand the Kardashian girls all have GoPro cameras. Makes for some interesting footage!

I'd stick to either the GoPro or Contour, they're the two manufactuerers that most everyone shooting videos in anything but dry protected environments are using. Both cameras are well supported with accessories items for just about any type of mount.

For $200 that comes with a lot of mounts & looks like a good camera.
I got a Contour GPS for X-mas. I love it! The GPS tracking is what sealed the deal, you can do a track, & the software will do a track outline for you, with speed. Then you can get add-on software that does gages with G-force & all other kinds of things.

Not sure yet. If you want to pay for more things, I'm sure it will be a replacement.
I'm going to buy this & see how it works

Cool, just ordered the Roam version. Would have liked the GPS feature, but didnt think it was worth the extra $125 (at least for what I will be using it for).

So many options out there, and you can knock them all. But one thing I don't see on this one is a 720X60fps mode, which is what I exclusively use for my track shooting.

My contourHD does 60fps, I think its at 720p too. The video quality it outstanding as I mentioned.
Does anyone with a Contour have a trick to get the sounds up to par though?

The higher end model has a mic input jack. On all of them, you can boost the mic to get more sound. I will say, the sound so far seems better then the Go-Pro.

My first time really playing the camera. Mounted inside the windshield, shot 720p 30fps no mic adjustment. This is straight from the camera.
The Fisters sound good to me!

FWIW I ordered the GoPro last night. Prob backordered, but for me, all the plethora of mounting options and the size make it a family fun thing too, not just track.
I have a 5 year old and can mount it looking at him on his scooter, bike, etc, or on his helmet, or my snowboard behind him on the slopes, etc. Even if he fell and hit it it looks like it would be less of an issue than on the Contour or others. The GPS does look interesting on the Contour. For track only, I'd probably give that a try.
