Mobil 1 - 15W50 for $4.37 per Quart @ Kmart
I usually shop Walmart for oil, but I dropped into Kmart (Hayward, CA) and found this deal. Mobil 1 15W50 was temporary marked down to $4.37 per Quart. Doing the oil math, that is equal to $17.48 a Jug! I tossed 12 quarts in my cart.
To further sweeten the price, at the checkout they gave me a $5 gift card to spend at any Kmart / Sears store or online! The clerk said that the gift card is because I spent over 50 dollars. That is like 1 quart for free

Just got off the phone with my local K-mart, only two quarts left in stock. BUT, the guy said I can get a rain check for as much as I want at that price, apparently. That's $1.12 less a quart than the sale I posted up earlier!

nothing at the Kmart's around here...none even carry M1...let alone 15w-50. The individual website's show a price of $8 and change per qt, and available at Sears.
Big difference between store's regionally I assume.
Local Walmart's don't carry that viscosity either, and Advance hasn't had a sale in quite some time. A local AC Delco store, wher I get a great friends and family discount-carries M1, but only the hi-mileage 15-50 with extra detergents. Eventhough they carry almost the full line of M1 lubricants-they don't carry M1 in 15-50, so I would have to special order the minimun quantity...which is a full pallet.
I would fully expect that price to be even below Kmarts per qt, but it's been weeks, and I haven't been given the answer/price yet-as I'm told that corporate has to chime in regarding the order.
Spring will be here soon enough, and I gotta get some 15-50.

Go to Autozone. They are National, aren't they? They have the 30 dollar special for 5 qt plus including an oil filter that I returned and I ended up 25 USD net.
I have booked marked me this posting that regularly updates oil deals:

I just picked up 12 qts of M1 15/50 at Kmart for $4.34 each.
With an old Sears store credit for $12.51, my grand total came to $42.71.

I stand corrected...many local K Marts carry M1 in 15-50...but the website doesn't show it, and when called, employee's can't find it either.
After I got back from a long bike ride, I decided to call more KMart's(first two called said they didn't have any in stock) #3...guy told me they had about 20 on the shelf.
So, jump in the truck, drive 22 miles or so, and find just 11 left. Back room checked for more, nope...all gone. So, next nearest Big K is 15 min's away...they have 8 on the shelf, again no others in stock. What the hell, store #3, another 15 minutes away, they had 6 on the shelf.
So, 11+8+6, I got 25 total. That's good for 2 oil changes plus some usage-since I burn a little less than 1/2 qt every 1K miles, keep in mind I've put 18K on the car in two seasons.
Well, KMart #4 is on my way home, one of the stores that told me they didn't have any on the shelf. I stopped in, there were 7 in stock...so that's a total of 32 qts.
This is a discontinued item according to the Big K-no backorders, rainchecks, etc. It took about 2 1/2 hours of driving, probably 70 mile's or so in all, but I got my M1.
Too bad the Pcar is clean and dry in the garage, the roads are pretty decent, and it would have been a great hunt with the car.
Thanks for the heads-up.

My apologies to anyone in the Cincy area, 33 qts. now on the garage shelf, cleaned out 3 local stores. The kids and wife were all up late last night and could tell they were going to sleep in. So......nothing much else to do at 7:30am on a Sunday morning but jump in the car and go oil shopping.

Stace(a guy) couldn't tell me enough about his Trans Am...that he didn't drive enough-damn ethenol. Kevin(another guy) had dry skin so bad his hands were practically shedding, and he had so many little bandaids on HIS FACE-many hanging half off, that I simply couldn't look away. Brittnany was a little cutie, but with a voice that would make you a serial killer in a week...and Elaine, ooh Elaine...had the hair of the bride of Frankenstein, and the shriveled up body of an anorexic meth addicted super model.
The clientel didn't look much better...present company excluded naturally.
Not sure I need anymore, besides...my next two stores are an hour drive in DIFFERENT directions.
