Mike,

Do you have the OBD2 diagnostic manual? That has tons of info on it regarding OBD2 troubleshooting. Don't think it is included in the standard set.

You talking about Volume 8 Diagnostics or another set?

I also have a PST-2, that is handy!

Cheers,

Mike

WERD...that's where I got mine a few months ago... So far, so good. But I'll see
once the car is truly under the knife.

This is another set. It's twice as thick as the regular set. Contains all the codes and troubleshooting procedures for OBD2. There are like 2billions codes and checks for the 4 oxygen sensors.

Let me see if I can upload a pic of the manual.

There's an additional OBD II diagnostics manual for the 993 in addition to volume 8 of the shop manual. It shows the different component locations a little description of their function and has the OBD II codes and diagnostic procedures to follow to figure out what is causing the fault. The part number is WKD483420. I got one probably about a year ago from Sunset Porsche, they had it listed on sale in one of there ads in Excellence.

Mike, what does the PST acronym stand for and what exactly is that manual about?

I took the $10.00 internet version to Staples ,had it put on a high grade paper stock, slightly coated, printed and put into nifty coloured binders for about $65.00. I think I may have paid an additional $40.00 for these heavy garage use colour coded binders . That would probably have been the shipping costs. The odd page is slightly off kilter a bit but otherwise crisp and clear, but that could be the beer.

We bought 400 manual sets from Porsche a few years ago on super close-out. I think we paid less than the printing costs! Porsche list on these is $1200 or so, we're selling them for $399, which is a really good deal. As someone noted, I have about 28 sets left (out of over a hundred), and I don't expect them to last too long. I think there are 12 or 13 volumes, which means it's about $30 a book...

Porsche System Tester...and as luck would have it, your tool collection can now be one piece closer to complete.
