Just a quick note from one who has been around for a while...Steve helped me many years ago chip my '95, walked me through all my questions as well as the install and the end result was well worth it (according to my butt dyno too". If you have questions, just call Steve, not to say that almost everyone seems to be an expert on his chip as I read the thread...just call him directly.

i agree 100% i would have said this from the beginning, but that isn't cool since i'm selling it and i didn't want to bug the man! he's been great and has answered all my questions without hesitation. if you want a chip and do not have an early .163 ecu, get one from him!

mine is still up for grabs: $350

Steve, just to clarify - both DFW and LFW maps are in the cheap and the choice is made based on what the ECU sees for signals?

Hi Mike,

Yessir,....DFW & LWF maps are in the "cheap" and the choice is made by running conditions and how quickly the RPM's drop down.

From the Rennsport Systems site...

’95 993 OBD-I, 12-15 HP program depending on fuel; $450 (socketed)
So where exactly is that power gain; throughout the complete rev range or up past redline?

Anyone have a before and after dyno chart (power & torque) where only one change was made...where the chip by itself was installed?

Alex, if you search, Boris (damn, I don't remember his nickname here) did quite a comparison of several chips in his '95 993 around 2005 timeframe.

Right, Mark, but he had a different nickname he was posting under, I think?

Boris actually had a car identical to my current yellow cab. And he arranged the PPI on my first cab out in NorCal. Great guy. The funny part was a russian buying a 993 from another russian on a third russian's tip with a fourth russian providing PPI and logistics help. It turned out later that the seller was also my friend's long lost cousin. Ahh, the old days

IIRC, his first screen name was "Boris Teksler". He changed it to "FlyYellow".
