Default New Wheels ... yea or nay? : UPDATE - 'yea' is ahead ....

Currently have the 996TT hollow spoke (8's 11's) on, and really enjoy them; however, have always admired the BBS RS-GT ( 8.5 & 11X18's) .... and have picked up a set.
With the angst of winter hibernation tugging at my choice(s), what do you think?

- the somewhat staid and period correct classic look of the hollows with the virtue of easy cleaning .... or,

- the intricate sculpting of the more track image BBS spokes with the enhanced bling factor, and PITA to clean demerit.

While the decision appears to have been made ... there are no tires yet mounted - and I'm missing one black BBS cap

Turbo wheels are better but keep both. Swap em out every now and again like Moffat!

LOVE those BBS RS-GT's. That is the way I would go.

Love all things BBS! But never underestimate the PITA job it is to keep intricate wheels clean ...over and over and over again for as long as you have them. Unless you don't mind the obvious grunge that will imbed in the tiniest crevices, you will be cleaning these, or else paying someone to do so; and often. But at least you don't have a bazillion of nuts to contend with. Did I mention I like the stock wheels?

^^I have had BBS LMs for a year. I put wheel wax on and then Zaino clear seal. I use PS21 wheel cleaner and to be honest...it is not that bad. (I know this is not a cleaning thread, but to make the point...) I also use a long bristle boars hair brush and my index finger. On a dirty day, it never takes me more than 10 or 15 minutes to do all four. The 17 stockers I had on took 10 minutes too if I was going to get into tight crevaces around the spokes.

That said, I love the RS GT but those hollow spokes look nice. Tough choices I know!

don't like those particular BBS at all.

I have the 996 twists and I like them a lot.

My vote is for the 996 twists...just don't like the "busy look" of the BBS. I like the look of just "5" spokes like they were made in the first place.

I have a spare silver BBS centercap if you want to be eccentric.

RS-GT FTW

Forged aluminum with titanium hardware vs. friction welded cast aluminum, I know which sounds better to me .

I have had mine on most of the year and so far they are not that bad to keep clean.
