ditto here, then pour that into a 6 gallon jug for recycle. My older 911 had the quick drain plug, yea it was quicker...just not a better mouse trap IMHO.

This might be a dumb question since I am a newbee owner but, can't we just suck the oil out before raising the car to change filters? I've done this with a couple of MBZs and it worked fine just to keep things clean. Of course, I would do a complete drain every 3rd oil change. Thoughts?

Because us Porsche owners are excessively ****, and argue how to get every last drop of oil possible out of the engine on oil changes. Most people on the list would not leave any oil in the system that they could not get out with a simple drain plug....

Now if you mean just to avoid splashing, sure you can do that - you will need about 3' or more of hose to get to the tank though.

If you want to get less splashing, put your drain under the main oil feed line entering the right side of the engine (oil pump feed) and pull that line out, its goes directly to the bottom of the oil tank. That line you can aim - don't ask me how I know!
