993 Value

993 Value
I have just purchased a 1996 polar sliver'navy C2 coupe. It is a one owner car with 4300 miles. Options include manual transmission, power seats, LSD/ABD, mats, CDR 210 radio, aluminum shifter/hand brake, aluminum sill trim, stainless oval exhaust tips, aluminum gauges, and 18" turbotwist wheels.
There is no paint work or flaws. All books, window sticker, etc.
I paid $53000. Any thoughts on the value of this vehicle?
Thanks,
Larry

Someone in my new 993 post just mentioned you'd post this and I'll warn you there will be both positive's and negatives as to what you paid.
Some will say you paid too much, some will say you paid the right amount etc...if you are happy with what you paid then that's all that matters.
Its basically a brand new 993 isn't it? Congrats!

love the car but post pictures. the car is worth 53k. if you drive it it'll be worth less and if you don't drive it you should have put your money in apple stock at 380 and sell it when it reports it's next quarter.

If you never drive it it will retain it's value. Assuming you use it as most of us do, it will always be a low milage example and will retain it's relative value. I paid a lot for a 9,000 mi 98 C2S 5 years ago. I love the car, it now has 25,000 mi on it and if I sold it I'd gladly accept the difference in return for the enjoyment I've gotten from it. I wouldn't however buy a low milage example and then turn it into. DD.

It always amazes me that some people buy a wonderful driver´s car like a 911 an then they don´t drive it!!!!
Every time I spend a week or so without driving my 964 I feel a strong urge to drive it - just for the joy of it!!!!
I guess this people are not really Porsche fans

Buying a 'new' 993 for $53,000 sounds like a 'no brainer'. If I had the $$ I would do it too. Even www.kbb.com has a value for your car at $46,000 and they do NOT properly calculate a car with that low mileage. It is just too low. I would say you paid a very good price. Enjoy the ride!!

Good question-
I have wanted a silver/navy C2 with very low mileage for many years. When this vehicle became available, price was of little concern. While I am very familiar with vintage 911 and Ferrari values, I know little about 993 values.
Thanks for the input.

People buy new "regular cars" all of the time for > $50K, drive them a few years and often sell them or trade them in for way < 50% of what they paid.
Most dealers will ask @$40K for a similar 993 with 40,000 miles.
Is an extra 35K miles worth $13,000 (@ 0.30/mile) for a Porsche - Yes.
It really boils down to how long you are going to keep the car.
If you keep it for only a year or 2, you will take a loss.
If you plan on keeping it for 5+ years, forget about the price and enjoy it.
