That's what I was originally thinking too but ehh, that's just pictures of wheels. I haven't seen many pictures of 993's with AGGRESSIVE wheel setups in this forum, so let's see some pics of steamrollers!

Yes. It would be nice to know the widest tire/wheel setup I could put on my NB. However, this is all subjective to the wheel offset, wheel arch rolling, etc. I have seen some huge tire widths on NB's here and have wondered how they got them to fit.

there are some variables that make it difficult to make universal statements as well, i.e. specific alignment parameters, not to mention individual car to car variations.

Having said, that, Simpateko had one of the widest wheel sets on a NB, using the 996 GT3 wheels, I think the same ones that Caherrera had/has on his WB.

There are guidelines that Bill Verburg has posted numerous times on the subject, but ultimately, final fit comes down to try it and see if it works on YOUR car.

PS: to the OP, define what you mean by "aggressive" that means too many different things to different people.

also depends on your ride height. i was told by many that my wheels wouldnt fit but since I am at RS+10 they fit just fine with no rubbing. 8.5'' Front (~ET46) x 10.5 Rear (~ET 56)

C'mon with the pics already! My diminutive 275's aren't worthy of this thread.

I will try and hunt down some pics of a 993 RSCS race car that is located in Oregon.... IT has 305's on the back and 245's on the front.. I have run 255 35/18 on the front and 285 on the rear. I am about to put 295's on the back.

The other component of this that is not sometimes considered is the shape of the tire, I have had 275's that rubbed and 275's that didn't without any other changes to the car.... lots of variables.

I am below RS height.

Ryan,

What tire size are you running in front? I picked up a set of BBS wheels with the same fronts as you and have been trying to determine what tire to run.

Not so great pictures of showing the "aggressiveness" and you could stuff bigger wheels & tires but here goes:
Front: 245/35-18" with 18x8" ET 48 wheels. (with right offset & rolling, I think 265 could fit in there)
Rear: 285/30-18" with 18x10" ET 52 wheels. (with right offset, 305 would fit in there)
About -2.5 camber and rolled rear fenders. No rubbing.

That is a fact, you can look at tire specs from different mfgrs. I've seen the same sized tires that can offer up to a 1" difference in tread width from brand to brand.

+1 My 285 Sumi's on 18x10's are basically the same width as my buddy's 265 Bridgestones on 18x10's.

Also had a Factory Five Cobra mark II that could only fit 285 drag radials in the rear unless they were Nitto's then you could fit 305's (the 305 Nitto was the same width as the 285 BF Goodrich). After that experience I always check the specs on tires pretty closely before I buy any. Tirerack is a great place to go for that.

Not a 993, but is this what you mean by aggressive wheel setups?
