The 993 RS's weren't imported into Canada or US, as far as I know.
I did see one perhaps a year ago at an Aston Martin dealership in New England.
Does anyone know of anybody who actually owns a real RS and not a 993 that has been upgraded to an RS? Has anyone seen any for sale in the US or Canada?
Thanks.

A guy I worked with imported and certified one years ago and another person I know has one. If the car has the airbag option, it is not all that hard to import and certify one I understand.
I had heard a while back that there are only 4 real ones in the US. Don't know if that's true. I've seen Seinfeld's Riviera Blue one on my way to work, but that's the only one. I've heard that there's also a guards red one and a yellow one, but I don't know what color the fourth one is. https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...nica-pics.html

Reason: added pretty picture
sadly I did not have the 85k at the time to purchase the real yellow one. Kills me. Looked at it a few years ago.
but I have kept my eyes open and don't see them any more. Since the dollar went in the dumps, they became unobtainable. And it does cost a fair chunk to import even with airbags.
This car was imported by a guy in Texas IIRC and then after a few years he sold it for about what an RS sells for in Europe .. so he ate the federalization costs .. Jager knows the new owner. I saw the car on the lawn at RRIV .. and I want it so badly it haunts my dreams ...
I know the owner of the yellow one. nice guy! the holly grail.

If you want an RS, Thomas Schmitz is the man in Germany. He is very trustworthy and will get the cars to you.

Well, if that legislation petition that a few of us signed around here ever produces a change in the importation laws, the age of exemption for grey market importation will drop to 15 years from the current 25 and we can all go broke bringing in toys from Europe ..
To the OP, the Polar Silver car you speak of @ the Aston Martin dealership a while back has been discussed here many times. Purschased by a Rennlister from Thomas Schmitz in Germany (germansportscars.net), it was brought to Oregon along with a Maritime Blue 964RS and legalized for the US. The car's optional airbags made the process simpler for certain. Both cars have since been sold.
FYI, if you are living in Canada, you can import a 993RS from Europe with nothing more than a safety inspection as the car is now more than 15 years old (taxes + duty are still payable as well). One caveat, I'd check the regulations on rollbars/cages as I'm not sure they will pass this inspection with one fitted (factory or not) and many RS have them.
thanks guys. Wow you guys know your cars. I think the RSs sell for around $200,000 US by now.
I recall that is about what the polar silver RS was priced at, at the Aston dealership.

Prices for RS' vary tremendously depending on mileage, history, condition etc. $200K (US) is probably at the high end of the market right now. I've seen prices as low as $90K (approx) for higher mile cars.
