993 oil leak/ clutch upgrade
hi i am new to rennlist after owning a 993 c2s 1998 for 7 years with 100k miles and developing an oil problem, i have decided to reach out for help. I have been doing 15 DE days/year since owning the car with the some AX with my sons. Being the end of the season with low tread and wanting to finally learn to drift, my son and i started by doing donuts. it wasnt long until i saw oil smoke when the car stopped there was a fair amount of oil dripping from the left side. in that the engine has to be dropped, and the original clutch is still in use, we now have access to change it, what are your ideas/recommendations for track worthy upgrades? I trust the mechanic as far as solving the leak problem is concerned.

With no engine mods, a RS clutch with lightweight flywheel would work great. I would also replace the crankshaft seal while in there.
Its not really advisable to be doing donuts in your 993, but to each their own... :-)
Cheers,
Mike

Darryl,
I'd concur with Mike on both counts: the RS LWF/clutch kit would be a great upgrade, however I'd recommend using another car for drift practice.
Make sure he replaces the rear main seal, oil pressure sending unit and clutch slave cylinder.
