Default ERP monoball links without rubber boots?

So, I got a set of these (from a fellow Rennlister, thanks!) to tighten up the and am wondering should I order the rubber boots.

What's the experience on ERP links without rubber boots? Longevity?

Also, if the consensus is to use them, from where to get them?

TIA!

I have the erp toe links and I ordered the boots from FD Motorsports. I think that they will definitely help in the longevity department as they nicely seal everything up.

It all depends on a couple of factors weather being one of them, if you use your car in the rain on streets this will shorten the life considerably (as little as 1 year).

I have had monoballs in other cars that have lasted 3 to 4 years with out issue. With boots on the ERP's you should see at least 4 years. It is also good to put a little grease in there as well.

I don't have them on my ERP links but will be installing them this winter.

You can get the boots from the manufacturer. http://www.sealsit.com/rodendboots.asp

Sorry I didn't get a chance to catch up with you when I was in Miami.....

Those look lovely, after you get them in and tested out please report back on how they worked out for you. I'm thinking of adding those to my car.

As cheap as the boots are, it's just one of the things you should do for goodness.

Thanks guys, easy decision, cheap price and no doubt will help with the longevity.

Anyone know what sizes to get? I searched but it wasn't really clear to me what size they should be...

Mark, I'm putting also monoballs in front lower arms and solid rear mounts.

Don't have all the pieces yet, once I do, I install them and will report back, something tells me that the handling "might" be a bit tighter after all parts are in...

My first set of Tarret monoball toe links w/o boots lasted 1 season, that was w/ no street driving at all. I used boots on the second set, so far so good.

A little lube is a good thing, I use WD40 on them.

Also, the Tarret locking plates work great... you get rid of the eccentric bolts and all adjustments are through the arm length. One less variable to worry about.

They have two sizes on the Tarett site, the smalls are for front and rear drop link size and the large are for the toe links etc.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just installed these boots on my not-yet-installed ERP spring plates. So you're putting a bit of WD40 inside the boot to install them or as general maintenance?

I used some boiling water to make the boot pliable enough to fit onto the rod end. Now i'm wondering if I should run them dry.
